TRAVEL DAY. Join The MacMaster as he takes The Eurostar from London St Pancras to Paris to race Geoff Buys Cars to Le Mans in his old Diesel Volvo, then meets the most friendly Parisian Uber Driver who takes him on a whistle stop sightseeing tour of Paris to see The Eiffel Tower, The Arc de Triomphe, The Moulin Rouge and other famous sights before taking the train to Le Mans to see if he can get there before Geoff Buys Cars. After watching Geoff's trip, I will say his looked more enjoyable. But this is from someone who has been to Le Man's a few times now and the drive there is interesting especially when you are passed by many supercars on route.

Been to Paris many many years ago. When they were getting ready to celebrate 300 years Basteal Day. Paris people seem to park anywhere like on the corner as city parking is at a premium. I used to love big cities like London and Paris when I was younger but as I get older they're becoming more and more undesirable to me. They stress me out. Of the two I think I'd take Geoff's Volvo. At least he had a first class seat.

Yep. This is Paris. Beautiful city but very dense. I was there on my honeymoon almost 30 years ago. Brings me fond memories. Wife passed away last year. Their subway system is very good, just like Montreal. I did film in Paris but it was on older analog videos.

Great video. I go on the Eurostar quite often to Rotterdam - Business Premier is the way to go when your not spending your own money. Segregated from the mob at St Pancras in the business lounge, likewise on the train with inclusive drinks and Raymond Blanc scoff etc . I'll think of you next time Lee 👍

An enjoyable video, Lee. Thankfully the weather made everything look great. I couldn't deal with the crowds for the train nowadays, St Pancras looked manic, it's been about 18 years since I last went through there though. Paris looked crazy busy with traffic, I wonder if Mr Mayor of London wants a new job there to calm things down a bit with the traffic. I've been on trains and planes, and my ears have popped on planes, but I'm puzzled as to why they would pop on a train, it not being pressurised like a plane, just curious.

Last year, I did the flight to Charles de Gaule airport (from San Francisc!!), then took local train from airport to Montparnasse train station in Paris, then train right to Le Mans station.

Tickets from Paris Montparnasse to Le Mans can be purchased online. Depending on how far ahead you book TGV prices are € 16 to € 55 or so. Also it depends on train departure time.

where did you buy the train ticket from nottigham? 06.11 is only £61. bought through trainline. The earlier one 05.49 is only £44., a couple of £ more and you could have gone first class.

It is 20 minutes in the tunnel on eurostar and 35 minutes on le shuttle. The reason for the time difference is that the eurostar is already at speed on entering the tunnel.

Dunno what the TGV/Eurostar runs on. I do know that they are fscking quick. I had a go against one in '97 going to EuroDisney. I was vMax in a SRi130 and it passed me like I was stood still.

I have done that trip several times, Eurostar is SO MUCH BETTER THAN FLYING…..comfortable, leisurely, roomy…..I love it👍🏼 although my trips were uncrowded unlike that one you got on…you did book BUSINESS PREMIER DIDN’T YOU…. 👍🏼….ALWAYS add 1 hour minimum to avoid the stress😃

This is a hard one to call for me because I usually love train travel but that journey looked stressful. I wouldn't normally want to drive on the continent but I'd quite like to drive to Le Mans in something special. I like Geoff's Volvo but I hate traffic jams. I love railways stations but that crowd at St Pancras looked stressful. The lager in Le Mans looked epic but the town itself looks a bit grubby. You've confused me with this one mate lol

22:29 Geoff should have added Club Class when he booked the ferry. That way he could have had priority boarding and disembarkation along with the exclusive lounge and complimentary snacks and drinks. (You still have to pay for hot meals or alcoholic drinks, but they do bring them to your seat after you've ordered them)

Lee, I don’t know what has happened to the Eurostar, I live in London but worked in Paris for about 3 years and it was by far the quickest way to get there. I used to travel business class because of work but I did go zoo class a few times and the only difference was the seat. The getting on and off looked rubbish, I don’t know what they’ve done. That Uber lad looked bang on, I used to travel with a rucksack and get a motorbike ride because of the traffic. Go to Paris in August, it’s like “28 Days Later” there’s no one there, lazy French bathtubs 😂

50:05 It's obvious that Lee has been on the sauce after very little to eat all day. That French lager must be powerful stuff after only two glasses. And they don't do pints in France. That will be 0.4 litres, I reckon.
