"Hawaiʻi Ponoʻī" is the regional anthem (or state song) of the U.S. state of Hawaii; it previously served as Hawaii's national anthem back when it was a sovereign Kingdom in the 19th century.
fun note, based on the lyrics of the song, Hawai'i Pono I was also known as the Hymn of Kamehameha I who uniting the islands which have been at war with eachother for over 900 years. when Kamehameha fought and took control of the other islands, he ended those wars which is why he is praised for uniting the islands under one chiefdom.
This is the Hawaiians land, the US had no rights to take it as a territory. They should have come to an agreement with instead of the overthrow of the Hawaiian Monarchy
@@invictusrozethat is true, but it’s better to respect the land because before the US came, the Hawaiian islands belong to the Native Hawaiians at the start before the US overthrew the Monarchy
@@BellaZuikaku4785 I won't argue against that, as the Hawaiian Kingdom was unlawfully overthrown. The American government itself has acknowledged it through the Apology Resolution.
