Aloha 🤙 today we are on a search to find hidden gem food spots in the North Shore. Unlike our last North Shore video focused on popular places, this one will be quite the opposite. Nice finds! Snow puffies are the best!! Look simple but so amazingly good! Next time you go to get your snow puffies fix, try going to their market right next door for their fried chicken! I will definitely try Hono’s truck next time instead of Giovanni’s!

I'll be in Oahu next month and will be trying that garlic chicken when I go to North Shore. I am on a quest to find the best deep fried and very garlicky chicken morsels. I'll check out Sugoi Bento that you did a review as well. For Japanese food in Waikiki, I recommend Yoshitsune. They have really good sashimi, sukiyaki & dinner sets. The dinner set blew me away & you get A LOT of food. I could not eat it all: miso soup, appetizer, homemade tofu noodle, sashimi, tempura, chawan mushi & salmon entree. The presentation, flavor & execution was spot on! I'm very picky when it comes to Japanese food(my mom's is the best😄). My parents & uncle & aunt love this place as well. Can't wait to go and they might have the seasonal matsutake.

I was told from many others that the fried chicken at Paalaa Kai Bakery next door was very good and yes, many others have told me Sugois has the Best Garlic Chicken. Right across from Kaimana Shave Ice is a place I’d recommend, Mana + Pua! Food and drinks are super instagramable and tastes great! If you two go, please try the ube cupcakes, it’s the only thing I didn’t get to try!

Hello guys, I came back from Oahu a few days and I tried a lot of your recommend spots! 1. Ubae- Amazing and unique flavor 2. Seven brother at the mill- BEST BURGER IVE TRIED IN MY LIFE! HANDS DOWN! Haha 3. Macadamia Nut Farm- best snowball cookies! 10/10 4. Weima Falls Trail/Waterfall- life changing scenery and fun 5. and I think you reviewed Papa Oles? If you didnt, you have to! Japanese Truck No.7 gets my vote for hidden gems in Hale'iwa. Super fresh fish and hospitality! Right off of the main drag too! The slight breeze from the shore mixed with eating a handroll is so memorable 😁

Aloha Rod, yes, that's the difficult part about some of the food truck. The hours, days, etc. So I always look at their Instagram pages and at least in North Shore, if one place isn't open, it's easy to walk a couple steps to the next one. Aloha Jasnmykeats!! Those snowpuffies are sooo good!!!! And yeah, they advertise the Malasads right when you come in so I had to try. And yes, a hike sounds good to me!! We try our best to keep it real and if the food isn't good, we may just leave it out. And I love Mountain Magic Shave Ice. They have the original one in Makaha. I plan on doing a review there also. Hi Sean, I so appreciate some of the places and restaurants you feature. Visited Oahu for the second time this week and we’ve used your videos both trips to find new places to visit and yummy eats. Went to Kaimana shave ice this week in Haleiwa. Great more natural tasting flavors, nice staff, and cool backyard sitting spot. We had chocolate samples and did a brief free farm tour at Waialua Old Sugar Mill. We also ate at Broke Da Mouth Grindz in Kapolei which was delicious. We had the garlic furikake chicken and loaded adobo fries, and a lychee lilikoi lemonade, and 7 of us shared the Ube ice cream cake for desert which was plenty. We never made it to Mama Nita’s even though we all wanted to because their hours didn’t ever match when we were in Haleiwa. Oh we also ate at Papa Ole’s in Hau’ula which was so good. We had a mix of their two versions of beef ribs, teriyaki chicken was delicious with a nice grilled teriyaki glaze, and their garlic fries are amazing. You might consider featuring that place if you haven’t before. Thank you again so much for helping make our trip great. Heading home to WA this morning.

Also, you should try the coffee at Green World Coffee Farm. I got the Cappuccino Freeze with an Irish Cream flavor shot and it’s the best coffee drink I’ve had! And I don’t even like sugary drinks! 😅 Have a great day guys!

Did you check out the store on the left side of paalaa kai bakery? It's like Korean food heaven in there. The kimbap is sooo good. You can put that place on your next north shore video (or a Korean eats video?)

Planning a family trip to Oahu soon. Definitely going to try Kaimana Shave Ice and maybe Giovanni!.... Glad you notice with the Hono's, it must be a Korean culture/mindset to open similar cuisine. I lived in koreantown in the main land for over five years and they do the exact same thing where they copy other establishment that is next or across the street. The funny thing is when you get the bill the name of the receipt doesn't match the establishment. What they will do is change the menu and update the storefront logo, but never change the business name legally. When a new restaurant move in the area, they will do it all over again. I find them very interesting, but will never go into business with them.

Go to Honos -- not Giovanni's! We tried both and ate them side by side. The shrimp at Honos are juicier, plumper, with better sauces! We asked to buy their sauce to bring home, but it's made fresh, with the shrimp so not possible. Support Honos!

I love honos. Their spicy shrimp is awesome, but bit spicy. Their sweet pineapple shrimp is my fav. I have no idea why Giovanni is so popular…. Nothing fancy about their food.

Just revisiting older entries. FYI...Mama Nita's relocated to 66-412 Haleiwa Rd. Easiest way to get ther....Turn L, onto Pa'ala'a Rd, next to McDonald's. Follow that road & turn Rt on Haleiwa Rd. Mama Nita's is on the Rt., next to HFD #14. If your coming from Waimea/Sunset, turn Rt., @ Haleiwa Joe's/7-11 & follow that road. Food truck on L....

Off the top of my head, for dinner, suggest Dixie Grill, Nico's at Pier 38, Signature Prime Steak & Seafood, Stage Restaurant/Amuse Wine Bar, Hy's Steakhouse & Shor WKK @ Hyatt Regency. Depends on what your palate, & wallet, are hungry for!-lol. Other's are located at Kamakana Ali'i out on the West side but haven't been down that side in awhile....
