Hello! I am happy to join the RU-vid world and show you guys what we are about! Hope you can learn something, and let me know if you have any questions! Aloha!
Aloha neighbor, we met at my work in Hilo but we live off of Leila in FF. Just wanted to tell you that I enjoy your videos very much. I always love seeing all the different ways that our neighbors use this jungle to suit their needs. I hope to get a couple weekends of cleaning up our overgrowth in soon, maybe after that, you'd consider doing an episode on our place. It's not much but it is unique in several ways.
I love it. You gave a bunch of real, hard truths like the mold and the boring beetle and the mosquito net and the pony wall on your A-frame how all those things are necessary. Real down to earth advice. Nice video
Tip on water in Puna. I live in Nanawale. There are government maintained wells and faucets (big and small in every developed area. It still needs to be filtered and treated to drink. It is also free. if toy have access to a pick up or bigger and can invest in food quality plastic cubes (about 4x4x4 and $425 new) with a metal cage for strength then get one or two. Fill one and transfer the water to another at your house or leave it in the truck or rope and pully to get it out. All this a back up to a few days of no rain. If you have a garden or flush toilet get a cheap non-potable water bin to store water for those.
I know this man!!! I slept there, took a shit there, ate there!! Really comfort!!! Amazing job brother Dollwet!!! The lord sends his great armies to protect you during winter!!!
Livin the offgrid dream! Thanks for reminding me that we can do this on a budget. Ive done it before and need to do it again! Thanks for the inspiration!
Aloha just found your channel i lived in Hawaii 16 years i sure miss it! Great job and so so Beautiful love your channel im a RU-vidr too. Anyway i like your channel 😊❤ Aloha
Nope. Born and raised in Hawaii, you need to fill in those cracks in between the boards on your walls, and put in windows and screens. Otherwise, you'll have roaches and centipedes getting into everything, including your bed. Trust me, you don't want that! Also, if you smell mold or mildew, ffs, do something about it pronto, or it will worsen so incredibly fast, your head will spin! Honestly, I couldn't finish watching this video. I've seen so many people come, fail, and go. When all they had to do was ask. Locals, like me, are willing to help! But only a few listen.
Love ❤️ your video. You really taking time to explain each trees, so awesome . So many fruits on your property. What’s the cost of the land and how many acres
Yikes. I just came from your catch and cook video. Seems like you're on a different Island but I can confirm on Kauai the Planning Department has employees who's jobs are browsing social media, craigslist, you name it to find easily confirmed building permit violations on farms and co-living properties. I would suggest not advertising the lifestyle on youtube and focus your channel on other aspects of your life.
Very nice house and property you have. I especially like the clear roof. How did it fair in the recent strong hurricanes? Any damage to your structures? I saw many other homes in the video. Are they your cabins and tents? Do you rent them out? Welcome to RU-vid! I'm excited to see future videos with your garden in full production.
The plastic panels holds up really good in high winds if you have them screwed down good! So my buddy lives in the front and I live in the back, we don’t rent any of our structures out
I can say by my personal experience that with good ventilation, which this house has, clear plastic roofing is a good idea if you don’t want to grow mold in your house. Tinted roofing is okay too. What is your experience like working with plastic roofing?
@@Offgrid_Neighbors808 I can understand that logic. I think keeping things open works best, regardless of roofing material choice. Lots of people get mold because of bad airflow. I just like to read sometimes during the day and or take a nap. Maybe you have a separate area for those things, I don't know. I think people would realize their blunder when they can't use those spaces during the day.
It’s really comfortable because there’s tons of airflow/ventilation. We need natural light to prevent mold. Trust me, I lived in a normal home before with insulation and eve to thing was molding left to right
@@Offgrid_Neighbors808 thanks man, best wishes to you. i strive to be doing what you’re doing 🙏 any tips on how you saved enough money to purchase your land? how were you able to save?
