One of the world's most active volcanoes has erupted once again. On Sunday, Kilauea volcano on Hawaii's Big Island experienced strong seismic activity that triggered an eruption. Normal activity within Halemaumau Crater at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This happens on an average of once every 2-3 months. It is nothing new or different.

Does Oprah have a “home” only the BIG ISLAND? I thought she only had one on Maui. Besides, what’s up with these ppl buying houses all over the world; they are only one person and can live in ONE PLACE at a time. It isn't even on the same Island. Get an atlas. Oprah lives on Maui. The only place with active volcanoes (there are only 2 BTW) is Hawaii Island. We are very used to this. Have to get up to the National Park some night this week to watch.

This is happening WITHIN the Caldera at Halemaumau. Look at the cliffs surrounding it. This occurs every 2-3 months or so. The Lava Lake fills and empties out. All of us on the Big Island have seen this many, many times.

Hawaii is a volcanic Island chain in the middle of the Pacific. We have many natural occurrences you find nowhere else. The Fires resulted from draught (it is the dry season now) from winds from a Hurricane 60 miles away funneled through mountain topography accentuated by the way structures in Lahaina were built and never brought up to code. Old Electric lines started it, This Eruption happens within Halemaumau Crater once every 2 or 3 months. The Lava Lake fills and goes down. Hawaii is subject to all sorts of disastrous occurrences because of where it sits. We also get Tsunamis.
