The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) announced the State of Hawaii is under a Tsunami Watch after an 8.1 magnitude earthquake struck off Alaska on Wednesday, July 28.

You never know , had a tsunami hit from earthquake in Alaska in 1964, don’t give people false hope , prayers for alaska and for us in Hawaii and anyone else in danger .
OMG! Was planning on moving to Hawaii from Georgia in two months, this is hella scary. My prayers for those in Alaska and Hawaii 🙏❤️. This is how a weather man is supposed to be, he is giving so much detail instead of just saying tsunami warning. GOD PLEASE BE WITH THEM, AMEN!!!
This is so scary, so freaking. Don't know why the world is going crazy, it's getting furious day by day. Here in my country, earthquake hit 9 times a day last month. And what is the most scary thing is that this happened only in my locality. We were so concerned about this.

Even here in New Zealand the government issued a statement that we didn't need to worry about a tsunami from this event but it was worth mentioning. Hawaii is one third of the way between Alaska and New Zealand.
Wow as I inquired about earthquakes in Alaska it appears that they get more earthquakes than CA which is surprising to me...all prayers go to them right now.
