Just bought one of these and found your channel for help. I live over the hill in Pahrump. Yes I know nothing out here lol. I will be watching thanks again
Awesome video! I've used many of your videos to upgrade my own bike. I'm curious, if I just wanted to put this muffler on and not cut the cat out, would there be any issues? I want this muffler just for the sound/look/and weight reduction, but I don't really want to mess with cutting the cat. That's a little too much work for me. Is it possible just to switch out the muffler with no problems to the efi system?
Yeah bro you don't have to delete the catalytic converter but you're still need to cut the old muffler out. And to be honest with you it is a pain in the ass but she sound so good right now with out it! I did it because I wanted to be less restriction but wasn't fun at all at least the way I did my. Some people just cut the pipe in half and take it off then reweld it. I think you'll be pleased upgrading the muffler at the end. But I never had any problems with the EFI She runs pretty strong!!! Hey thank you so much for watching my channel I'm glad that I'm able to supply some ideas for your guys👍🏻
@@Nickroberts8 It's really simple it's not hard at all some people just slip the muffler with the coupling, I welded my so it would never felt off. If you have any other questions just let me know I'm down to help you!
It's a nightmare to remove that Cadillac converter off, but on the Hawk DLX the exhaust splits in half like you see on the video! I took a flathead screwdriver with a hammer banging it out. took me forever but I was able to drag it out of there in pieces. I seen people that just cut the pipe in half and weld it back on that will be the easiest way. But to me I didn't want to do that. I did it the hard way but the cleaners way 🤷🏻♂️
Can someone please help me? I have a 2021 Hawk DLX 250 and the muffler and secondary pipe are one piece. The exhast header pipe has an oxygen sensor. I cant just remove the muffler like I see you doing here and I cant reach the catalytic material because the muffler is welded to the exhaust pipe. They must have made a revision. Any suggestions?
You gonna have to remove the hole exhaust system your best bet is to remove it and take it to a welder that can cut it to remove it, you can get a slip on muffler but all that needs to be weld together. I think I spend like $60 to get my welded plus the muffler as well
Yo bro I'm interested in getting rid of my air box but there's some wires mounted on it near the battery where did u mount those after u took it off? Great video bro
You disconnect that wire off and connect it back on brother there's no wire for the airbox. If you want to send a picture so I can see what you talking about 🤔
Just to give you fair warning that box is very hard to take off maybe you'll be able to wiggle out of there. But I went Rambo with it and I cut it in half 😁
@@GeeMusicEnthusiast I was looking at my bike I think you talking about the ignition wire there's a temperature wire as well. I didn't have to mess with them when I took my box off, But I did run a little bit of black tape around the ignition wire connector to make sure it never comes off it's a good idea to put some of that electrical Grease me myself I just use black tape to keep the moisture away.
Xobandit, That was a nightmare.lol Only because I'm hard headed and I didn't want to cut the pipe in half to take it off, The easiest way to do it is take it to a welding shop but cut it in half 1st and then take it to the welding shop is easier to remove it and faster.
@@lv-blackhawk haha ok ima do that then..I’ll show you pics of my hawk soon..I made into a cafe racer..but it cost me 3500 at the shop after it was done lmao🤦🏽♂️ but I think I made the bike a little heavier so it’s not as fast as it was, so I think I should get the exhaust upgraded like you to gain speed back..So before I spend all this money again lol. I have the 2021 dlx fuel injected. Will that exhaust fit?
I definitely want to see that I would like to get some idea of what you did for sure it will be cool if you can make a video bro that will be awesome, The carburetor Hawk and the EFI they muffler are different. I need a new project so I have few bikes in my head that I probably will end up getting!
@@michaelc330 I had a hard time taking it off but I managed to do it. Some people just cut the pipe in half and weld it back together! There are good running bikes you just got to be on top of them. Be careful with the stock chain they can give you problems! Ride Safe🙏🏻
I quite don't understand what you asking me 🤔 But the exhaust comes in two pieces or should I say it split in half I just cut the end where's the muffler is and weld the coupling to the end of exhaust then you slip the new Muffler to the exhaust they comes with two springs that goes on each side and you done! I hope I'm explaining myself well sorry if I'm not quite good at it..
Yeah I was trying to figure out how you got that nice clean end you slipped the new muffler over. That's a piece you had to have welded to the original pipe? I don't have a welder so I'm thinking about getting a muffler and having them cut out the cat and make a new pipe extension.
@@Arvierra1980 Yeah the coupling comes with the muffler I don't have a welder either it only cost me $20 to get it welded. If you take a grinder and cut it the long way make like a small door to get the catalytic converter out it would be easier that way you don't screw up the dimension🤔 you can weld it back on. But if I was you just replace the muffler first and try it out with the catalytic converter. Because when I remove the catalytic converter she ride a lot better but she is loud as hell.
Hey bro please HELP! I took my 2020 hawk dlx 250 to my local dmv (Laughlin) and they said they could only register it as OHV. How did you get yours registered?
Bro that's baloney!!! That cannot be possible I register my bike at my DMV here in Nevada I didn't have no problem at all I got my plates right away the same day! But don't Laughlin that's Nevada as well??
@@lv-blackhawk yeah I literally just got back from the Laughlin nv dmv and she told me I’d have to take it to the inspection station in Henderson if I didn’t agree. OHV is Off highway vehicle it’s for only off-road
@@johnharrington4757 Now it makes sense to me, sounds like she don't know what she's talking about but once you get your bike inspected. They will see that you have brake lights headlights and turning lights once you get your inspection done then you will get your tags! Sounds like she don't know what she's talking about if she thinking that you just have a regular dirt bike! I think you will not have any problems because there's a lot of people here in Nevada that got that bike registered. I did the same thing I went to the inspection they just look at your bike. But I did running to a problem I don't know where you purchase your bike but the DMV they won $200 in taxes because those people from Texas never charged me for taxes so now for me to get my title I got to pay $200 in taxes to the DMV 🤬 bro they get you one way or the other this state is hungry!!
