I'm really loving this series so far. I definitely like the character more because of it! Hawkeye brings "humanity" to the Avengers, and showcases what it's like to try to juggle the work/life balance that every dad who loves their kids struggles with. In our heads, we aren't role models because we know our shortcomings (like what Clint says about him not being a role model), but to our children, we aren't just dad, we're super-dad. Love it!
@Lawrence Allen Dowling Winter soldier is juiced up, along with half of the cast, it seemed. Loki and WandaVisionn are kind of the mythos of Marvel, but so far, Hawkeye has brought the most humanity.
@@joedadbod8450 Clint really is a reflection of the Silver Age of Comics from which he belongs to. He may not find himself an idol, but he is the most realistic. He is someone people can truly relate to (not the killing, espionage, and superhero stuff, but you know what I mean). He may not be my favourite Marvel Character, but he is definitely in the top 10.
I find it interesting that they often put a date on flashbacks but did not when Ronin attacks the Tracksuits and kills Echo’s dad. Does make me wonder if this could be a misdirect and Jacques was Ronin prior to Clint taking on the mantle. Maybe Jacques has a past relationship with Clint-training him earlier in his career. If Jacques blipped this would have created an opportunity for Clint to take on the Ronin mantle.
I don’t think they can kill Clint. This is supposed to become a Christmas tradition, not a tear-fest. It would also undercut his arc to being able to spend Christmas with his family
@@Sonmmmxuan if he passes the mantel and retires than people would demand constant cameos, i mean you probably know how marvel fans are Many were literally asking for old cap cameo in FATWS
So... I can buy that Disney would agree to kill Hawkeye on a series. And I can buy that they would agree to have a story where his goal is to meet his family, repeated over and over, and then kill him before he gets that chance, just to make it more tragic and sad. But nothing will convince me that Disney would agree to kill Hawkeye on a series, when he promises to meet his family, during CHRISTMAS - especially a series that has been marked as a holiday event and is being released to coincide with the holidays. That's WAY too edgy for them. Hawkeye will be alive at the end. :)
imagine Clint Barton being the most underrated and least exciting of the big 6 throughout the Avengers movies but ends up with the best most entertaining film of them all.
I remember reading that Renner wanted Clint to be killed in the first Avengers. Now look where we are. I wonder if he's ever publicly reflected on that original statement.
@@ColorMeConfused29 He didn't like how his character was being portrayed, especially in the first Avengers movie. Hawkeye was just there but hardly had any depth in him. Hence, why he wanted his character to be killed.
As long as it doesn't have Kate bishop, we good. Otherwise, his character wouldn't be any different than robinhood and that's definitely not interesting.
This was by far my favorite episode. I also loved how they used people with disabilities in this too. It helps us connect with the human side of these people
To the people responding without any common sense. It helps us connect to the human and vulnerable side of someone who is seen as superhuman / Avenger. Its crazy how people jump to the negative when this comment was intended to be nothing but genuine.
I'd disagree that having the actors talk to the camera directly "makes the actors uncomfortable." I think it's to make the audience uncomfortable. Or, at least that was the point in Silence of the Lambs. In Hawkeye, it makes you feel like you're being spoken to directly which makes the scene feel more intimate.
I must be the only person who loves the MCU Disney+ cliffhangers. I realize there are other ways to end an episode, but it's genius for a Fandom audience to speculate for a week.
I love the subtle line; "Hard of hearing, not Deaf..." from Clint. My Deaf friends demonstrated to me that Deaf is a culture, a whole way of being. Clint is hard of hearing, losing a sense he has depended on till now.
Deaf couples often hope if not take deliberate steps to ensure they have a child who is also completely deaf. It's utterly insane to me but I think it illustrates very well how they've made a culture out of a disability. Certainly at least the Western cultures I'm familiar with are not meaningfully designed with deaf people in mind for the most part.
The scene where Clint hits the car and it turn on reminds me of Thor whenever he gets in a spaceship and just hits random buttons and slams on the stuff and it magically turns on
I’ll be honest, wasn’t very enthusiastic about the first two episodes, but the third changed everything for me. Such a great episode, can’t wait for the next one.
It is so amazing to see indigenous representation in the MCU. Being Blackfoot myself, I have always loved the Marvel and the MCU. It just feels so good to see someone I can really relate to!
@@pineddew because it's not honest. It's just making money off of other people's cultures. I think minorities should have their spot light in film but when it's one movie after another after another it's like.....ok enough kissing ass just make a movie.
I, too, wondered if they were going to make Jacques the past Ronin. I sort of hope they do it because it would be damn dramatic, and NEITHER of them would want it to come out. AND it might be why Armand was worried for him.
The series is actually better than I thought… I love the camera angles they are next level…. Hawkeye definitely deserves this spotlight after being overshadowed throughout phases 1 & 2
I think Swordsman at one point in time also wore the Ronin costume. During the Auction Heist, he picks up the Ronin sword and instantly knew how to collapse it to fit in his jacket.
Clint's not dying by the end of this series. One, it is at its heart a Christmas series. Two, Jeremy still has a lot to give to the MCU moving forward. Plus, Kate is going to need more training before Clint does decide to officially retire and pass down the Hawkeye mantel.
I love this series. I really love the Matt Fraction book and I love what they've done with it. And there's no way Kate's dad isn't coming back. No body, no corpse.
I wonder if Fisk is collecting a bunch of technology, equipment, and other assets from Avengers Compound - which will ultimately allow him to be the benefactor/outfitter for the Sinister Six in No Way Home; Explaining how Electro got a stark reactor, and the variety of upgrades for Green Goblin. Just a thought..
I would also read the Nothing Held Back as No Holds/ No Layaway - which if I remember correctly was a practice of a lot of toy and department stores at the time.
That scene where there were talking on the subway (14:30) - my grandfather was severely hard of hearing in his old age, and conversations with him were like that so much that this scene really made me miss him. He was always one conversation behind, because of how long it took his brain to sort out whatever sounds he was hearing. This seemed like the most authentic part of this episode to me.
The song being played during the car chase scene was “A Mad Russian’s Christmas” by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Another Russian influence, and a great album overall well worth a listen. 👍🏼
I feel like the best way to introduce kingpin would be if Vanessa got snapped and so did daredevil so Fisk went back to the top or maybe Vanessa died from something else and then daredevil no longer had any leverage to keep Fisk in prison.
I'm wondering if Jack wanted the Ronin costume / sword to PROTECT Hawkeye. If he did teach him sword-fighting, he may not have recognised Clint under the hood, but he would have recognised the swordplay style being used by Ronin and worked it out that way.
Not one person gets me as hyped up as Erik does with his theories. Yes, I know he doesn´t always gets it right, but you gotta acknowledge the reasoning behind his theories is great
I loved the Children of Men style camerawork in the car that was awesome kudos to the Director. Uncle is 100% Kingpin no one else puts fancy pins on their shirt.
That scene with the train. Personally, it is a sign they are starting to get closer. Same line of thought just on a different station lol. I have very similar experiences with my hearing aid using (or not using) father haha.
Nobody mentions how the episode is titled "Echoes" and Clint frequently 'echoes' Kate's words when he can't hear. Also, Clint should have just put his phone to his ear or said he lost his hearing aid so he can't talk.
He's a good dad, there's no way he'll do that because he did'nt want to make his family worried about him and also Nate wanted to *talk* with him...I mean if he did that, he'll make Nate disspointed, twice 😣 //sorry for my broken engrish lol//
Armand refer to his powerful friend as someone "you dont want to mess with" just like Clint refers to Uncle. I think this indicates that Armand worked with Kingpin, and Elenor is trying to compete with or overtake Kingpin.
That one word Uncle, yep!!! Wilson Fisk is coming back, let's go!!! Also, the scene with Clint talking to his son along with the silence really puts me in the feels.
I LOVED the artistic and stylist direction in this episode. Good pick up on that. That chase scene was SO HYPE too. Incredible episode from the highs to the lows emotionally, and still just so fun as well. Best episode so far in MCU series?
"one of the best" haha cause theres only 5?? It's better than falcon so far, but the others are leagues ahead in terms of risks taken and scale, unless they pull off something crazy by the finale.
Does no one remember Kurt Busiek's Strange Tales from 1994? Where a demon named KhLΘG from Native American legend takes the form of a dragon & tries to travel between worlds? It's an obscure deep dive, but so was Ta-Lo before Shang-Chi.
I think I'm gonna ride the Kingpin train. It is so awesome that we get to see this side of Clint and how they've expanded his character. I'm exciteeed!
I’ve been subbed for quite a while now & I just gotta say, I absolute love how you dissect all of the marvel stuff with such detail. But it’s delivered so smoothly in a way that makes sense. Keep up the good work!
I feel like Jeremy Renner wouldn't be retiring as Hawkeye anytime soon because of some of the posters we've seen feature him wearing the signature purple costume. He will probably share the role with Hailee or lie lower in the MCU imo
The great thing about the poster in the subway is the subtext about the Blip. It's helping families move forward *together*. Like, after someone who was missing from reality shows up after five years and now you have to live with that person.
Just thought of something...if we get Kingpin in the next episode...will Feige and Co. still ask Charlie Cox to lie for another week until No Way Home drops?? Cause it’s obvious that once you see anyone from the Netflix shows, Daredevil is coming too!! Or do they hold off on the Fisk reveal till episode 5 so they can both be revealed at basically the same time??
Love how the characters are so rich and original. The juxtaposition of their backgrounds and social status/ norms are intricately intertwined with our real world cultural perceptions both in reality and as portrayed in the arts. Emmys for sure
Remember when Scott‘s body was deaged and aged by the early Time Machine, what if the watch the tracksuit gang is trying to get is a key to achieve that. Because deaging Hawkeye is something no one would expect
