i mean why would he? there are so many black widows from the red room. the only tell tale he had was that yelena used the widow's bite. Yelena didn't know about Clint's relationship with Nat either when Val first showed him to her.
Even if Nat told him she had a sister, there are so many widows he might not automatically think it was Yelena. I think if Nat opened up to anyone about Yelena it would have been to Laura.
I honestly never thought Natasha brought Yelena up to him, because everything went to absolute shit after the end of Black Widow, because Thanos😳😵💫 It might have been a bit inconvenient to bring up the little sister thing.
So glad the Larpers are depicted as more than just awkward teens living with their parents. Bonnie Gordon comes to mind. In this series they are legit people of service .
This episode really nails how old and weary Clint really looked like. Especially that interaction between Clint and Kate in front of the TV. It was heartbreaking to watch it when he replayed all his memories. And damn, the music from Endgame when Kate was hanging and needed help, that too was heartbreaking. The same music when Clint and Natasha hanging from the cliff in Vormir.

Yelena jumping off the building was a Total Poser moment! The producer said Ep.5 is probably her favorite and I want to know why! It totally makes sense now why Hawkeye's wife is so understanding. She's in cahoots! She's more involved than we've ever known! The watch is probably hers.
They told that shot you didn't take story with Clint and Nat and look at Kate not shooting Yelena. They gonna be besties. I think the watch outs his wife as a shield agent. Possibly they gonna make Laura, Mockingbird.. Laura doesn't exist in the comics but hawkeye and Mockingbird had a series together and were married and it would be a nod to the comic nerds like me.
I think the watch is connected to his wife she obviously isn't just a humble house wife she was probably shield at one point shes not a former widow as she has kids so leaves shield
AOS isn’t canon in the MCU, but most of the MCU is canon in AOS. If that makes sense lol I want Laura to be a badass agent, but I also want the AOS Mockingbird to become MCU canon.

These writers really know what their doing... First couple of episodes they had suspicious and hating Jack. Now in this episode they have me wondering if Kate's Mom is really behind the whole thing and is just setting up Jack to cover her tracks. I've suspected her from the first episode when she and the Dad went missing and only she alone came back. Another clue is when Armond was arguing with her about money. He could have found out what she was up to. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Clint's mentorship seems like Tony's. He's truly getting into his role as a father-figure/mentor. He's never cared as much as he does now, and he doesn't want to have something happen to Kate and have it be on him. What makes me worried is that Tony dies at the end of Peter's mentorship. 😭
The thing is, thematically Tony’s death was something that was teased and implied for a long time. We dont have that here. Not only that, but Tony was around for a while to mentor Peter. So I don’t expect Kate to lose her mentor so quickly. And it just wouldn’t work for Clint’s character arc
I have a theory...both Jack and Eleanor are both into some shady stuff without each other knowing...Jack set up the robbery at the auction to get that all important watch, but got the Ronin sword as a bonus...while Eleanor has connections with Valentina, who she called to set Yelena onto Clint..! Bit of a wild theory but ya never know..! 🤔
I think Kate's mom was the one who inform to Yelena about Clint. She did phone someone after he left her apartment. Maybe the mom working secretly with Val, either Jack too or Jack there to spy on her.
I feel like Laura Barton's full name may be Bobbi Laura Morse, aka Mockingbird. She's one of the most recognised SHIELD agent and also Hawkeye's wife in the comics. So maybe the watch belongs to her during her agent years?
In the overall MCU Bobbi is laying low after leaving Shield. Feige has announced he will replace that actress but so far he hasn't outright decanonized any stories from ABC. If Bartons wife is the new Bobbi this will be the first time Marvel Studios rewrites a narrative from Agents of Shield. Personally I hope it's just a soft retcon with a new actress and not Bartons wife ......however .....even though it's a man's wrist watch Laura does seem to have Intel on how to research information a mere housewife wouldn't know. We'll see down the road

the watch belongs to Clint’s wife. that’s why she knew about the avenger’s compound inventory because she was a former shield agent who retired after she got kids (hence why clint kept her and his kids a secret from the Avengers in INFINITY WAR …or one of the movies can’t remember). the watch has her identity and i think that’s how maybe echo found out?? but then she would’ve taken notes on it…or maybe Eleanor knew about clint’s family and told Echo bc they’re working together, hence why she mentioned his family at the beginning.

Since Black Widow came out, I had some questions about VAl. The main one being how she knew certain details that should have been inaccessible to her, which, to me tells me there is a mole. I think that mole is Laura Barton. Val knew two things that should have not been known, the status of Caps shield, and that Clint killed Nat, which obviously he didn't, but there is only two people who were witness to Nats death, Clint and Red Skull. However, Clint would have confided in Laura the events on Vormir. Now that Laura is being portrayed to have skill beyond raising children, how did she have such quick access to who was running the Track Suit Mafia? Clint Barton's end in this series has always been a problem because of his family, however, if it turns out that Laura is a double agent, his death could lead to far more story lines than him just retiring into the sunset.
what if in the end Clint dies because of Yelena and he can’t go home for Christmas for his family. it’s sad to think that the original six are slowly disappearing, sigh.

Since the watch is tied to somebody's identity and since it doesn't seem to be his own identity after Kate figured out he was Ronin I'd say it's probably not any of the Avengers since their identities are all publically known, it could be Laura, she seem to know what to do and what's going on, she could have a SHIELD past.
I thought the watch was definitely Tony’s nanotech watch from civil war, but after this ep I’m thinking it’s Laura’s since he said the owner’s been out the game for a long time + their identity is tied to it. PLUS Laura getting all that info and speaking PERFECT German out of no where (I speak German so I was shocked how good her pronunciation was) yeah, there’s definitely more to her story
I am from Germany and have to admit that I didn't understand a word of what she was saying. In fact, I was thinking it was Russian or some other language. But the subtitles were very helpful there. In the German dubbing, they let her speak French instead (otherweise you wouldn't hear any difference).
Ok what if kate's mom is madam hydra and is working with jack (jack looks like a villain) and they probably both work for val, maybe the mom called val and val told her about yelena, so thats why yelena didn't attack kate
Thoughts On Hawkeye - Episode 4 Based on the phone conversation between Clint and his wife, Laura - the vintage Rolex belonged to her. It has sentimental value as he carried it with him after The Blip. He lost it in the Avengers Compound rubble after Thanos’ ship bombed it toward the end of “Avengers: Endgame”. They both thought it was destroyed in the aftermath. It has a tracking beacon installed in it as it emitted its location signal. The ladies timepiece must be uniquely connected to Laura as it would out her true identity to whomever she had originally pledged her allegiance. She even has the designated tracking software to independently locate its whereabouts. My theory is that she is an-ex espionage operative; that’s how she knows Natasha Romanoff so well, speaks fluent German and even understood their tactical playbook - such as ‘Catch and Release’. She must have absconded to evade her former employers before seeking asylum through Nick Fury and SHIELD. Early on, Eleanor asked Kate to organize their Bishop Holiday Party. While with the LARPers, she requested them to make 2 costumes of her own design. It means that we will see Kate and Clint dressed up in their comics-accurate purple getup in the next Episode attending her Office Christmas Party. Right after Clint left the Bishop’s penthouse, Eleanor called someone and left a voicemail message: asking him/her to callback as it was urgent. My theory is that the call was meant for Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine @ Val portray by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The next evening when Kate broke into Maya’s home, Yelena Belova was waiting to ambush Clint on the rooftop as directed by her handler. I’m predicting that Maya’s adopted father: Uncle Wilson Fisk @ Kingpin shall make his cameo in Episode 5. As head of New York’s criminal underworld, I believe that Bishop Securities, Sloan Ltd and the Tracksuit Mafia are ultimately answerable to him.
The last 2 eps may be insane. Jack, the mom who's totally sus, Echo, now Yelena, and potentially Fisk (maybe just a cameo at the very end, or credits scene).
In the comics Hawkeye is married to Mockingbird. This character is in agents of shield but maybe they are changing in so that it is hawkeye´s wife in the mcu.
Elena is keeping Kate safe. she even lowered the zipline for Kate to zip down, she also threw her off the bulind to safety. She must have nbeen hired by mother
Makes me wonder how much about the time heist the Avengers revealed. How does Val know Natasha didn’t die in the attack on the Avengers compound? That seems the most obvious scenario, but somehow the bad guys know more of the intimate details than they should. Who did the talk show circuit? It was Scott, wasn’t it?
It seems that the general knowledge is that Natasha died. All gets ambiguous, remember that the musical got wrong the battle of new york saying that Ant Man was there. So Val might not know more, but she is twisting that general ambiguous knowledge into the "truth". Why doed she wants Hawkeye dead? That'smy question.
Tony HAS been "out of the game" for a while. He dropped out of the superhero game to marry Pepper and raise Morgan, then only came back to help with the "heist." The connections that remain include Pepper, Morgan, Happy, and others. At least that's my opinion on this.

Laura Barton is actually a FORMER S.H.I.E.L.D. agent/spy named Bobbi Morse codenamed "Mockingbird" and she helped Clint got out of crime and got recruited by Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. ....... Clint's wife is a former spy too, a former superhero. In the comics, she was a member of the Avengers too. I think that watch belonged to Clint's wife. Laura is not her real name because she is trying to hide her real identity: Bobbi Morse. Bobbi Morse made so many enemies because she was an undercover agent in the criminal world. Oh, and her wife's real hair color isnt brown, it is blonde!
I doubt thats the story in the MCU. Also Mockingbird Bobbi already appeared in AoS but sure, u can say its not canon anymore. But still she was a pretty good mockingbird
Ppl keep saying that Eleanor asking Clint to forget the case is sus, but she literally doesn’t want her daughter to be in danger? She even stated it as such. I don’t see how what she’s saying is implying anything outside of what she’s already saying lol I’m fine with being wrong by the end, but it seems a bit too weird to say she’s sus when she hasn’t done anything sus since episode 1 lol
As soon as I saw her fighting style I knew that was Yelena, only a Black Widow fights like that, and this one was fighting like she was seriously pissed off. Also I absolutely loved the scene of Kate and Clint having their own Christmas celebration.
