Hawn State Park - Whispering Pines North

This is a great hike on the Whispering Pines trail in Hawn state park. It’s near St Genevieve MO. St. Genevieve is a great little town with some good restaurants. I highly recommend a trip to this area. I show the trails we used for a 5 mile hike. It’s an easy hike. I planned and tracked the hike using the onX Backcountry app. I have found this app to to be easy to use and you can download the maps to your phone. That works out well as cell service is not good on these trails.

Great Hike. You hydrated a meal than you had prepped prior to the hike. In past camping videos you used purchased meals. Are you creating all of your meals now? I couldn't help but notice your Little Rock ball cap. Have you spent some time in our neck of the woods?

I occasionally dehydrate my own meals for two reasons. 1. Freeze dried meals are up to $11.00 each now. That is pretty pricey for my cheap old butt. 2. Most freeze dried companies putting too many ingredients in their products that I don’t want. When I make them myself they are much less processed. Spent some time visiting Little Rock last year. Nice city to walk around!
