As a teen many years ago, this was one of my favourites video ever on RU-vid, obsessed with acceleration videos. Today, many years later I still enjoy it, the camera quality gives it also something special, nostalgic basically.
I never tire of seeing just how these things accelerate. My heart rate gets to about 140 just watching. I cannot imagine what it is like to actually do it.
ClaudiaShifferLA; yup, I pilot a Busa too, and the stock brakes are really as good as they're shown in this vid... The Busa pilot in this vid is not using ABS I'm sure, because the model Busa he's piloting didn't come with ABS.
Busas always amaze me. My modded Bandit 1200 tops out around 240-250 kmh. This guy does that leisurely in 4th gear, then briskly accelerates to and indicated 310 plus KPH. Sweet!
Are you really justified in tooting your horn at someone because they change lanes in front of you at 250kmh? How the fuck was he supposed to see you coming?
djtutty76 agreed, but he might have been a bit to much "in the moment". and for his own sake, I do hope he was, and just not thinking of other things X) peace.
djtutty76 i think this is recorded in germany so yes, he is justified because basically you have sections where you can drive as fast as you want...and 250 isn't even fast on those roads trust me and 250 is not a speed where you "pop out of nowhere". The driver just missjudged the bikers speed, AND the biker really wasn't that far away that you can say "he came to close to fast" I have the feeling that the guy in the car really just glanced at his mirror and switched lanes without thinking about it . If you consider my average traveling speed is 220-230, and that I still get overtaken by axpromitaly 2 cars a minute, 250 really is nothing special. PS: I'm not a biker.
Had a really awesome and close friend of mine die on his sports bike. He was speeding for no reason and riding like hell. It sucks because not only was he extremely young, but this kid would take a bullet for anyone; thee most respectable, loyal and amazing kid you'll ever meet. He left his family and friends behind still grieving till this day. No reason to ride wreckless and put your life and other's life at risk. Just the other day, a speeding bike t-boned and killed an innocent driver...
I saw one of these accelerate out of a Suzuki dealership once. It's in downtown with a pretty busy highway running past. He started at one end of the lot, and had to be doing 100+ when he hit the highway. Scared the shit of of me. Every time I see one it makes my heart stop a little. Super cool though.
como debe comer nafta el bicho este... yendo en 1ra llega a 120km/h !!! es un monstruo esta maquina!! si te haces el loco, terrible palaso te pegas, nisiquiera te das cuenta de que te moriste!
@ghoul64 --As a bike rider (and hot rodder) myself I LOVE speed, but not at the risk of injuring others. Like many of you I've lost too many friends and family to biking accidents so I'm glad this guy didn't get hurt (or hurt someone else), but he shouldn't be doing this on public roads.
Just look at any car show and every single time they spank the motorbike around the track and even in the straights. Motorcycles are fun toys, but that is about it. That engine absolutely cannot compare to the traction of 4 wheels and the aerodynamics of a smooth body.
Big fake !! The bike says 320 km but passing other cars/busses (who are driving maybe 120 km, a difference of 200 km/hr) with that low speed... He's driving real maybe 150/160 km/hr, not faster !
The white lines, length of the line on the German autobahn is 6 meters, the distance between them is 12 meters. If you count 10 lines it's 180meters he did in 2 seconds (from 1.47 to 1.49). By that he does 900m every 10 seconds. 5.4km every minute. 60minutes would mean 324km/h. The passing of the cars is just the camera angle, nothing more :) That is just roughly calculated, not really accurate, but it is still over 300.
Actually, yes, people have been able to repeatedly pull sub 3 second 0-60 times in a GT-R. That is what the car is famous for. They make it super easy. You just get your buttons in the right settings, floor gas, release brake, instant sub 3 second 0-60. This, of course, needs to be done at sea level. A Hayabusa absolutely cannot do that. Maybe 5 seconds but you can only do so much with (190?) horsepower. A GT-R has way more.
This comment is so excite to read! I am literally shaking! I don't know why you would want someone to sit on an owl. That is animal abuse. I mean, it depends on how poofy the owl is. If the owl's feathers are sufficiently fluffed, then it would be a nice and decent chair, but you would have to make sure that the owl is not being abuse.
i did 190 mph on mine what i thought was great was so smooth and efortless wicked bike im sure someone will shott me down but just for what i got great bike never missed a beat or ever let me down always done what i asked it to within my capabilites and i can ride. Stay upright guys.
Man I have a Busa from 2012with cdi box on it and yoshimura exhaust ,pushing 230 hp , top speed 340. I Live right next to a 20 mile long starigth higway and when I hit 340 on the highway it makes such a huge sound and vibration impact on anybody with in the 500 m area , all the ladies get honny and the guys get hadd , even myself get pretty excited... But got to0o0 say that first and third gears are my favorite , everytime I hit full throttle in third gear I shit my pants! Btw did you guys notice he breaked from 290 to 100 in 3 seconds? 😮 Drive fast or not at all.
"since there's a light going off all the time" its easy to say when looking recording. driver doesnt see it if he doesnt exactly look at the light. and you dont keep attention to it when your driving over 300km/h :D every motorbiker has forgotten it on at least 10 times.
The way I look at it is, at 50mph there is a good chance you could die, or worse (IMO) be crippled. At 80 to 180 it really isn't going to make that much of a difference.
Wow I didn't even know my 2011 busa had gears higher than 3rd. My momma told me never to ride it in any gear higher than 2nd, but I don't tell her I sometimes shift it into 3rd. ;) and that's only if I have the drive mode (S-DMS) selector in "C"
***** Yeah you are right man, driving like this is threat to anyone and myself but; man I'd really love to learn how to drive a bike. It's a little fantasy of mine. I remember when my dad and my cousin used to take me out on their Yamaha when I was like 8 years old, the sensation was simply unexplainable. But don't get me wrong man, there is no need to put yourself and other drivers in danger driving like this.
choliberto My Father shattered both his legs (when he was in his 30's) when he crashed his motorcycle into an oncoming articulated vehicle turning across his path. He was very lucky not to have been pulverised under the wheels. Apparently, the driver of the truck did not see him. Fortunately my Father survived, but he was left virtually crippled. It didn't stop me from pursuing my love of motorcycles, on the road and on the track (as an amateur super-bike enthusiast). I have my fair share of scars, aches and pains! Please be careful and save the speed for the track. Good luck.
***** That's terrible man, I'm really sorry for your father but like you said, it's great that he survived. I think that it is amaizing that you didn't let that hard experience to influence you out of what you wanted. Thanks for the advices man, and good luck to you too.
@VikingNightmare Or maybe he was not expecting that some idiot is approaching him at 280kph. Even if he saw the bike when started changing lane he could not have known that the bike was traveling 2 times faster than him.
This is like having an argument with a 4 year old. Read your comment again, sweetheart. I misread nothing. You saw the light and wrote this: "...cars are slower than motorcycles, in a straight line and especially round corners." Nobody is discussing F1 cars here. We are discussing road vehicles. Answer these questions: Have you ever actually ridden or been on a 1,000cc+ motorcycle? Have you ever driven a car of 400bhp +? Are you over 12 years old? Don't bother replying without answering them.
@AllAmericanGuy01 I know, I know. I haven't ridden in years, after I realized how speed hungry I was getting. Fast wasn't fast enough anymore and that started to scare me. Sorry about your buddy.
@merkvila100 Based on the bike speedo being in kph, license plate shape of the cars, the street lines and signs. I'd say Central, Eastern Europe... Autobahn or somewhere close to it or maybe Canada.
Who doesn't go 15 mph over the speed limit? But when you go 80 mph that is a problem half of the people won't see you coming because when they first looked in their mirror to change lanes no 1 was there.. Most of the time they don't get a fast ride to top it out all day, it's more of the acceleration..
A bit of a confusing post, since it seems to be forcing the second person. There are no specified pages to turn to like a choose your own adventure book. Again, an unfinished product.
@Badman2326 have you tried looking in your mirror for a bike travelling at 280? it would've been covering the length of a football / soccer field every 1.5 seconds. can you judge that? probably not
