"Hayagreeva" is a unique and simple sweet delicacy of Udupi. It is prepared using chickpea lentils (chana dal) and jaggery as primary ingredients. This is the best one to offer as 'Naivedya' to God and Goddess on festival days.

Chickpea lentils - 1/2 cup
Jaggery - 1 cup
Water - 2.5 cups
Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Cashews - 2 tbsp
Raisins - 2 tbsp
Ghee - 2.5 tbsp
