Thank you David. Buchbinder is a wonderful pianist .The only time I've seen him struggle a bit is when he conducted a chamber orchestra from the piano. I love the stately largo. It has an Elizabethan air to it.
@@montepitchedmusicianchannel usually this sonata is not considered to be hard. i played it when i was 11. i don't really the sound of this pianist but should admit he has some brilliancy in his performance.
Superb performance by wonderful pianist! Lively Allegro has scattering of feisty twirps and tweets played cleanly, with an underlying urgency. Dynamic contrasts and overall finesse reflect Buchbinder's polished musicianship. Largo e Sostenuto opens on a heavy, rolled chord, proceeding with dignity and nuanced dynamics. First section repeats several times, with many effective subito pianos. It has a beautiful melody and more gorgeous seconds. Somber conclusion on one chord, repeated four times. Presto is a delightful return to optimism. Buchbinder gives a polished performance with great panache! Thank you, David!
Haydn was a never ending fountain of wonderment. I was unfamiliar with this sonata and was, once again, floored by the inventiveness and lively creativity of this man. The performance was terrific. Thanks, David, for sharing these!
Thank you for another one of your Buchbinder Haydn recordings. He plays with a singular elan, "crisp and clean," as described by commenter @tackontitan. There is a lot of Buchbinder in Brendel.
I will be uploading several more in the coming days. Here's the first: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BxRcgFJRHpE.html Playlist is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8-SIN1IYcRM.html
Nimble and strong fingers are dancing over the keyboard. Refreshing & utterly satisfying. Indeed a stunning Sonata by Josef Haydn as well. Does it take an Austrian*) to hear it? *) Actually Canadian of 'deep routed' Austrian descent 😊 Thanks for the TREASURE !!!
