Hayduke Trail | pt 2 

In this episode I begin by crossing the snowbound Henry Mountains. A big winter made the low route mandatory, but it was still beautiful! Then it was over Tarantula Mesa, into Capitol Reef National Park and the Lower Muley Twist, and up and over the Waterpocket Fold to Stevens Canyon. After the Escalante River and Coyote Gulch the Hayduke climbs up Fiftymile Mountain, crosses the plateau and then drops into Monday Canyon (ughh), Rodgers, Navajo, Reese, Last Chance, and Paradise before following roads to Round Valley Draw. The scenery was amazing from Round Valley through Hackberry Canyon (where I ran into some cowboys), then up the Paria River. The Willis Creek Narrows were beautiful, then it was onto Bryce Canyon National Park. The last highlight is Buckskin Gulch, followed by the northern terminus of the Arizona Trail.
