This was great!! Adding the extra gallon of water before closing the lid makes total sense and I don't think it's in the instructions so thank you!!! My hay was looking cooked, not soft and steamy and am sure this will help a lot. Thanks again!!
Thanks for posting this. Didn’t know about this device until now. How many bales do you steam each day? Do all the horses get it, or only ones with allergies?
We just have a couple on the steamed hay, who have allergy issues or sensitivities. We do steam quite a bit each day. It makes the barn smell great. :)
For our horses with allergies/sensitivities, we notice a big difference when we steam their hay. They have much less issues. Thanks for asking and watching!
I thought that model has an 8 liter (2 gallon) steamer. In any case, these systems do not work well in a cold barn. And you have to babysit them because the American models don't have a proper steamer with an automatic shut off like the European ones. I am waiting until we get the right steamers, not just a Jiffy clothes steamer.
