Hayhouse Farm was the venue for Andre & Angie's festival inspired wedding in North Dorset. This incredibly easy-going pair from Brighton were bursting with love for each other and their joy and excitement showed throughout the day.
Bouquets filled the cottage where Angie and her bridesmaids were getting ready. The white and pink bouquets complimented the pastel colours present throughout the wedding. Angie gave her father, who had visited from Thailand, a bottle of whiskey as a gift. Angie also gave bracelets as gifts to her bridesmaids to wear throughout the day.
Angie sat down in the cottage kitchen with the make-up artists and hair-stylists. Angie's father had returned from Thailand with passionfruit, which are one of Angie's favourite fruits. Unfortunately, some were showing signs of the worldwide travel, which the bride was not shy in pointing out! Angie put on her embroidered wedding dress, placed a lucky penny in her shoe and departed for the ceremony at the barn.
The rustic barn was filled with guests and petals lined the aisle, which awaited Angie. The wooden pillars and hessian seats gave the venue its earthy feel as Angie walked down the aisle with a beaming smile.
Angie and Andre exchanged rings and a candle was lit in honour of Angies late mother and Andre’s sister presented a reading to the couple.
One of the guests presented a reading from the one and only… Dr. Seuss! The piece was fun, yet remained heartful and thoughtful. The couple tied the knot and were cheered as they left the barn and were showered with confetti as newlyweds.
The bride and groom’s choice of setting was ideal for their festival themed wedding; 2 marquees in the middle of a country field. One was reserved for the wedding breakfast and was filled with white linen tables and flowers. The second was reserved for the canapes and late night dancing, and the path to the entrance was was lined with lanterns. I was particularly taken with the couple's wedding cake, decorated with costume wearing eggs to represent bride and groom!
Pimms and canapes began to flow as laughs and cheer filled the tent.
Dinner was served! There was a selection of dishes, prepared by Andre himself, including jerk chicken and aromatic curry. People settled into desert and prepared themselves for the speeches. Angie and Andre, took a contemporary approach to wedding traditions. There were fun and heartfelt speeches from the father of the Bride, Angie and Andre before we heard from father of the groom and jokes from the best man.
Evening guests arrived as dusk approached and the dancing began. The couple’s first dance to Redbone was an amazing highlight. The dance started off slow and then escalated to a fun, choreographed dance and finished with everyone being encouraged to join the pair on the dancefloor to share the excitement.
