I think I found an easter egg. There's a picture of an elephant with the rider on his back (0:40, 3:27). It's the only picture among all those empty frames on the walls. I think it could be a nod to the Sudden Desire lyric "Take the elephant by the hand and hold it/it's cruel to tame a thing that don't know its strength". I googled "elephant and rider" and found about a theory from psychologist Jonathan Haidt about two parts of the psyche: the Elephant is instinct, strong and impulsive, the Rider is the rational part and they need to cooperate to live well.

In her interview with Zane, she specifically talks about trying to be more in touch with her feminine side. That she has always been aware of and accepts her masculine but has struggled with accepting her feminine nature. Because it can be "dirty," or "disgusting" but also "beautiful." She said the feminine side of her being is "natural" nature. So, clay, mud, spice, floral, tree bark, re-birth, etc. All things that aren't really looked at or appreciated for their beauty, but are still beautiful none the less. She also went into detail about going home and having a completely empty house, aside from lawn chairs and a mattress. (empty picture frames on the walls in this video). Also, how her dog, is the reason she chose to stay alive. Because he is always there for her, she could never willingly leave him. I feel like this video is in direct reflection with some of the inner struggles she expressed in that interview. And I'm here to say. *HELL YES GIRL* you are cinnamon. Sugar, spice and every thing nice. I feel like all of the sides dancing together, choreographed is a good note on her own duality. Everyone has multiple "edges"? to their personality. She is finally trying to rationalize and accept her own differences. It is fucking beautiful, and authentic and something I think that every one on earth has struggled with at some point in their life. She is learning how to nurture, her own nature. No worries Hayley. You aren't alone in the literal sense. Your choices are yours and yours alone. But the fans, family, band mates, are all here with you. We all make up one big old struggle bus. ❤❤

When you feel so lonely and, at first, it’s kind of scary, but then you find youself and embrace that part of you.

The way she looks at the camera when she says “talk to my dog, he don’t mind.” Is a huge fuck you to Chad and I love it.

The musicality of this song is like an abstract painting, it doesn't make sense at first due to the displacement of the rhythm but when you hear it till the end and play it multiple times, it makes a lot of sense. One way to describe it: GENIUS!

The comfort of being alone after spending so much time with someone else, you begin to find yourself again + your voice. At first it’s terrifying, you know...when the house is silent and haunting you, until you realize that the house heals with you and helps you grow through silence and freedom. I felt this video so hard. Especially the dog part. Big shout out to my Dog, Indica. Big shout out to Hayley.

I actually love how they focused on the dog in this video when she was running away from those "things" 01:30. Either 1) they just wanted to showcase the dog cuz of course. Or 2) it was like the dog wasnt afraid of those things. Like it was a part of her. Or it was her. The dog didnt treat the things like it was an intruder. It wasnt even protecting hayley from them. Cuz the dog was like, "what are you running from? These things are what you want but are afraid to face. These things ARE you." or 3) i could be looking too much into this :/

This, to me is a representation of running away from your shadows and when you can't run anymore, facing them, feeling them and realizing they're fragmented versions of yourself, seeking wholeness with you. And this is all going on inside of her mind and body, consciousness . It feels as though you're running away from the fears until you can't run anymore and have to face them. But then you coming out strong and on top and fully, lovingly in your own presence with ease.

Hayley is doing what artist do: using all her pain, desperation, fears, sadness, demons along with her dreams, hopes, virtues and happiness to guide her through, to get inspired and be inspirations for others. You're smart, strong, creative, talented. YOU GO GIRL!!!!! Edit: And, why not be inspired by other as well!!! 2ndedit: OMG! Never before have I get so many, thanks! I'm shook, bruh!

Being afraid of yourself, your demons and depression because that isn’t you, it’s something triggered that you’re now suffering from by the trauma of something like a break up. A way that I coped with depression is practicing acceptance. I feel like this is what this video is about. Embracing your sadness instead of being weakened by it. Thank you Hayley, your music and videos make me not feel alone in my own battle with depression

First Simmer, now Cinnamon? This is obviously an album about her experiments in Cooking. Next up: Par Boil and Sassafras

I love watching her grow as a performer! Every detail of the song and the video gives me the chills. Down to the choppy, not all together sound towards the beginning and towards the end where she’s free and dancing it sounds like everything came together perfectly. She was scared with her thoughts. She thought she would drown (hence the bath tub scene). But when she faced her fear, she learned how to dance with them. It brought a whole new her to life. But then again, this is just my interpretation.

That pain, the survival, past versions of ourselves and future expectations... they define us. I can definitely see the influence of your previous music in Petals for Armor, but it is also so new. I loved the album Hayley. It is not Paramore, it's not anything else. It's you and it's nice to meet you!! I the stories in the album represent most female 30year olds souls, flowers withered by love and its use, abuse, disappointment, betrayal and judgement. All the while trying to mend scars AND taking control again of their lives.

Okay. I have a theory that this is a story about the process of letting go and shedding armor little by little like falling petals. 🌹
