The Hazara are popularly known as descendants of the Mongols, but what truth is there to this? Are they descended from troops left behind from Chinggis Khan? We discuss the possibilities here, as well as present a short overview of their later history.

I have taught advanced English to several Mongolian soldiers who worked as guards of US bases in Afghanistan. Afghans were very friendly towards them, and many natives told them that they were Hazaras, and Hazaras and Mongols are brothers. That could indeed be the case, or those Afghans (especially the ones met in bazaars) simply wanted to sell their wares to the soldiers. ;)

@@alqasbano2686 Thank You. It's so nice to see some people have patience and respect to discuss issues logicaly rather than trash talking. There are diffrent concept of Hazara religion. some historian believes that Hazaras converted to islam by recieving a letter from Nephew of Hazrat ali Jaadat bin Habira before death of Hazrat Ali . where according to Historian Rashidullah Fazulallah, Hazaras or better called the people located in central afghanistan converted to Shia Islam in between 1246-1284 century by son of Halaku khan (the grandson of Chengiz khan) who himself converted from budhism to shia Islam. but moving forward in 1880s by attack of abdur rehman some of hazaras and nuristani people of nuristan province were forced or had to convert to Sunni Islam. 1. If your question is only about being killed. i must say from every tribes people have been killed not only hazaras. but if you mean being trageted and killed so only shia hazaras is being targeted and killed. 2. Sunni hazaras are living all over the globe. but mostly in afghanistan in Baghlan province, Badakhshan province, Ghour province and Panjsher province. in Pakistan In karchi Gulshan Iqbal and peshawar(when I was in pakistan i met them in karachi). I dont have any information about sunni hazaras in IRAN. Best wishes

One of the interesting fact about the origin of the Hazaras is that the Turco-Mongol people who moved to Bamiyan region were not solely consisted of male soldiers. There were significant amount of East Asian women with them. I'm Hazara myself and my maternal haplogroup is D4c2 which is common in Siberian and Mongolian people. About 35% of Afghan Hazaras have East Asian maternal line which is virtually absent from the surrounding region.

People who lived in Bamyan before the invasion of the Mongols were of East Asian descend. They were the ones who build the Buddhas. Even though the Mongols wrote in "the Secret History of the Mongols" that Bamyan was wiped out, some, specially females, might have survived and mixed with the invaders.

She gussed that we three were from three different countries. But when she knew that we all three are from same country and further from same ethnicity Hazara she was totally suprised and did not expect that. Actually, all Hazaras are not looking the same. And then they sell out Qizilbashs (Nader Shah Afshars decent and they put Ahmad Shah Durrani on power and gave him the famous Kohe Nour (mountain of light) Diamant. And then they sold out the Sadats. All for money. The Qezelbashs gave them homes and face places to live among us in our areas. Until 1880 they had good and peaceful life’s under the Qizilbash umbrella. Hazaras are Hazaras. We are Turkic and later on when mongol attacked us yes we do have like everybody around the world mongol ancestry. We speak Persian dialect and we are the first ethnic groups of Afghanistan. WE ARE NOT MONGOLIAN!!!!! Nor THE DESCENDENT OF THE SOLDIERS LEFT BEHIND But maybe got mixed with few of them. We were/are spread all around Afghanistan. And we had an empire GHORIAN. It’s sad that this video didn’t talk about that nor when Hazaras rebelled not once but multiple times against Abdul Rahman and Pashtun nomads when they taking over their lands/ country (KHORASAN) or now Afghanistan we were massacred and the genocide continues till this day sadly. That’s why there are a lot of confusion about us being mongol or many other thing which we are not. We speak Persian dialect which has nothing to do with mongols. But that dialect (hazaragi) does have a lot of Turkic/Turkish rather then Mongolian When listening to Turkish I see a lot of similarities but not even one in Mongolian. as a HAZARA most of this information is completely wrong. I hope you can talk about everything when talking about Hazaras not just us getting massacred or being Mongolian which we are not but our empires and the time we ruled and us Hazaras the first people of Afghanistan!!!

Tbh, many Hazaras migrated to Indonesia aa refugees. I mean there are a lot of Hazaras maybe around 100 thousand here. As Indonesian, i think they looked alot like a Native here 😂😂 apart from their blonde hair. I'm not joking, They looked nothing like our image of Afghanistan or Middle Eastern

No , but . actually we should be proud to be having such a rich and strong bloodline. having same bloodline with ppl who used to be strongest in Asia is honor now Idk why our ppl wants to deny or magically forgot about everything.
