Crazy how this song hits so much harder after season one. We’re about to see one hell of a team next season!

Alastor is pretty much a perfect opposite of Charlie, like the other side of the same coin. While Charlie is very honest and kind, Alastor is deceitful and malicious. And while Charlie is out to help the denizens of hell, Alastor is only out to find entertainment for himself. I think thats what makes their chemistry so good.

I like the duality of "set the world alight". One is saying to set it on fire and the other is saying to illuminate it.

This song makes it sounds like Alastor's real plan is to lured Charlie into embracing her inner evil and really shake Hell to its' foundation; at least that's how I'm seeing it. Would be so cool if that is an actual plot point in the show.

This song predicted whole season. Charlie: I can fix him. Alastor: I can turn her. Both somewhat opposite & yet Helluva Team.

From Alastor's, its like he is trying to remind Charlie who and what she really is, trying to empower the evil and the potential inside her. Definitely my favorite line, so much power and passion in it❤❤❤

Alastor's design is perfect for his character. The constant smile gives him an odd "used car salesman" vibe

1:51 "..no soul" the fact that they managed to predict such a plot point withouth even talking literally-

I really love the line "I know my dreams are hopeful but their not stupid" It all in one lines shows how she wants the best for other people without being okay with being disrespected. She's smart enough to know when she's being talked down to and she isn't dumb. I don't know why this line specifically gets me but I just think its nice, the idea that a happy person can stand up for themselves without trying to show off that they can be sarcastic and mean spirited too.

When AmaLee and Divide join forces you get One Hell Of A Team

I love how fitting the "stone cold with no soul" part is considering that we find out in season 1 that Alastor is also on someone else's leash so he might not be in possession of his own soul

What I love about this song is that it's not just about Alastor trying to manipulate Charlie, it's also about Charlie trying to get trough to Alastor. That she sees just as much potential in him as a good person as he sees in her as an agent of chaos!

I love how this song goes both ways. Both Charlie and Alastor want the other one to be more like them, thinking they'd be better off that way and they'd be a better team. But it is in fact their differences that make them such a good team. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it and I'm finding subtext that's not actually there. Who knows. Awesome song regardless.

The line 'loneliness, your only friend' hits. I love how in Charlie's portions, it shows that she's not just some naive girl who'll get swayed by deals, rather it's more like she's dissing Alastor. I also like how that line could be about Alastor, but could also be Charlie talking about herself. I like fanon Charlastor as much as the next person, but I also really hope we get chaotic found family dynamics when the series releases this year. Part of me hopes that even if Alastor did start with some diabolical plan, he does end up liking being at the hotel, not necessarily for redemption, but because as his comic shows and as Charlie says here, he could really just be lonely. Boredom is just a form of loneliness after all.

I love how Charlie tries to pull Alastor one direction and he tries to pull her the other.

Charlie wants Alastor to try and be a better person and redeem his hellish soul. Alastor wants Charlie to get in touch with her inner demon and unleash the true power she has.

"I don't understand, what's in for you?" There's a little theory I saw that I'd like to bring to your attention. The reason Alastor is helping Charlie is this: Alastor, known to us as The Radio Demon, is a being without equal. But during her song, he saw hints of something greater than Charlie lets on. So it is that Alastor decided to lend a hand to her cause, waiting for it to "tumble down into the fiery pit of failure," curious to see if Charlies true nature is a worthy of challenging him.

2:45 This part is my favorite part I think. The way the song lightens up a bit with a beautiful intersection, before Charlie screams out “No!” and the song comes crashing back down to the chorus makes me feel a way I can really describe. Incredible work to everyone who worked this masterpiece!

This hits so much more differently now.

I think this is quite deep and says a lot about their thoughts. As said in the song, they both believe they could be so much and make “One hell of a team”, but their ideas of what each other could be is the complete opposite of what they want. Alastor knows that if Charlie were to turn into(assuming Alastor is the bad guy of the story) bad, since she’s the princes of hell, she’s very powerful along with her determination. On the other hand, Charlie knows how powerful Alastor is, with just words he can do what he wants. If he were to turn into a good guy, things would be so different and with his help, Charlie can guide many demons to redemption. But they both don’t want each other’s views, as they believe they have a better view and opinion than the other.

I was rocking out to this while cleaning last week and my four year old wandered in from the other room with wide eyes, and perked ears. He was totally enraptured by this fantastic song and now every time we listen to music, he always insists that "the team song" is the first song we put on and will try to get us to listen to it on endless repeat if we let him. He's way to young for the show, but he sure as hell loves the song. :D

One thing that I absolutely LOVE about this song is the way Divide's voice is edited to sound like it's been ran through an actual radio just like Alastor

I can kinda see how some people see Charlastor in it, but more than anything I see it as two opposing parties trying to convince the other to join their side, or two P.T. Barnums singing their part of to the other side to each other basically

Having finished the 1st season, I hope the 2nd season would experiment with the idea of Alastor corrupting (or atleast try) charlie. And the opposite for Charlie, seeing as how she thinks everyone is worthy of redemption, would try to help Alastor be redemeed

I like that the tone highlights boths intentions. Alastor is persuasive, saying hes only trying to help her achieve her best even thiugh we all know he isnt like that and charlies lyrics is her resisting and offering the choice to alastor to help her from his heart. This really fits after season 1! I love their dynamic honestly, since they are both really interesting characters that both grow from the other's personality. This song also matches the dad fight Alastor had with Lucifer.

This song made me rethink what Charlie and Alastor would be like if they were bros. A total, chaotic, theatrical, polar opposite power duo.

A incredible song highlighting the dichotomy between these two characters. Notice when both mention “set the world alight,” it means something very different for each of them. While Charlie sees compassion and understanding as a means to make the world better, Alastor is madman who wants to see the everything burn!

I have mixed feelings. On one hand it shouldn't have taken till 2020 for these monsters to collab. On the other hand, I'm glad all their collabs are bangers. They make one hell of a team. Cant wait to see what's next.

I seriously love what Hazbin has done to the internet, there's so much good creative content coming out of it- songs, art, fanfiction, comics, animatics, animations, OCs, the list goes on. It's inspired so many people and I just love watching it snowball the way it has ... (Also, people wonder why Charlastor shippers exist pfphfpfp... "business relationship that turns romantic" and "bad boy meets good girl" are both SUCH a good tropes, and these two could fit into both AT THE SAME TIME)

I love this song and the underlying message of two charecters with opposing personalities trying to convince the other to adhere to their own morals Charlie and Alastors dynamic here is basically Charlie : I can make him better Alastor : I can make her worse Charlie sees the good in everyone and will give them all a chance to change,meanwhile Alastor is probably one of the charecters who will never be redeemed because he simply does not want it but he does see potential in Charlie that he wants to exploit for his own gain

1:35 I find it interesting that in Charlie's part here, it keeps on flicking back and forth between her and Alastor in the way it does. It seems like it would make more sense if it went back and forth showing Charlie being accusitory/angry and Alastor being evil, which it does do some, but that's not all of what happens. The video portrays Charlie in some of the shots as if she's thinking about herself or remembering something she'd rather not. I think this might represent how she's struggling with her nature as a demon and her hopelessness in starting the hotel, wishing she could be better as some sort of perfect person when she feels inadequate on the inside. Because of this, I honestly think that part of her entire verse in the song may just be her projecting her insecurities onto Alastor, even if many of the things she says he is are accurate. She thinks she's naturally "evil" because she's the princess of hell, and she clearly has issues with feeling confident that her dreams are remotely realistic, which is even shown in cannon. I think that this part of the song did this double meaning very cleverly, so thats cool. Thanks if you read until the end, and have a nice day :)

Anyone who thinks this is a ship anthem is obviously not paying enough attention to the meaning of the lyrics. Alastor is literally saying that If Charlie would embrace her inner demon her and Alsoter could wreak havoc on all of hell. Charlie is saying that if Alastor would give her cause a chance then maybe he would become quite helpful to her and they can both do good together. Thus leads me to my theory... I think the plot of Hazbin Hotel will be rich in lies and secrets. I think Alastor and Charlie are going to be playing a game of cat and mouse, but they're both gonna be cats, He's going to try and push Charlie to the dark side, and she's going to try and push him towards the light. BUT! Although Alastor seems to have most of the advantages the two are pretty matched in advantaged and disadvantages. Carlie's nice nature is going to put her at a disadvantage with Alastor, Alastor is going to try and use her kind-heartedness to get into her head and under her skin. Charlie's obvious close connection with her mom *_(It's obvious in the pilot that she and her mother are very close, this is supported by the phone call asking her mom for advice and all the pictures she had of her mom on the wall.)_* and Vaggie, Charlie's loving, overprotective, and supporting girlfriend, are the advantages Charlie has over Alastor. Charlie has family and friends rooting for her, thus giving her a much-needed dose of determination to do her best and never give up. Alastor's disadvantages are going to be his nature. He's confident in his powers, both demonic powers and manipulative power he has over people. Charlies supporting family and friends will help combat the manipulative aspect of Alastor. As for Alastors demonic powers, using his demon powers drains his energy. *_(In the pilot after he uses his powers at the end you can notice dark circles under his eyes as well as the first thing he says after he uses his powers was that he wanted food, food! something that helps restore energy.)_* And after Charlie uses her demon powers in her song she shows no sign of being tired or hungry. *_(My theory for this is that's because Charlie was born in hell while Alastor is a mortal soul that went to hell.)_* Charlie won't get tired as easily as Alastor would. Alastor's advantages over Charlie would be his confidence, much like Charlie, he probably won't give up easily. And last but not least, Alastor's intimidation, he knows he's intimidating and he'll use it to his advantage. who will win? Light and good? or Dark and Evil? *Edit* I love how this comments replies have become a dense forest of theroys and ships! Xb
