I have several top builds for my personal list of hardcore builds and this is one of them :) PS : Few months later... Tested Calla today. Facetanking all the time, no healing potions used, killed it in 6 mins safe, which is pretty fast for HC. The build is having some issues with some of the resistances and can be boring at times but still very powerful. If I was aiming for speed running dungeons, sr I would have considered some of the other chars I have but overall this build can do it all (except Crate) if you are not looking for speed.

Is this build still as strong with the recent changes? I will be stripping my primal strike Warder gears off and build an Archon because Oathkeeper does elemental res reduction now. Idk what to do with him next.
You gotta change the relic to serenity/doom/deathstalker now, other than that the build should still be fine. Or you play a more aggressive, less on HP regen focused version. Avenger is a very strong and versatile set.
Is this still viable? I'm trying to 100% the achievement of grim dawn before the next ext (180/185). My last HC char (druid) died in SR before I could finish the last 2 HC achievement I have left. Would this be enough to finish SR25 Tier and Magus Morgoneth achievement in a timely manner? I do have a lvl 44 Soldier that I kinda abandoned at some point so I'm halfway there already xD
Any advise on building this guy out as a first HC character with no farming characters on HC? Or would you recommend another build to start in order to farm stuff for this one. In your video you said the build doesn't really work proper without avengers set
You can try to make a build around voldrak's crusher (cadence) or troll bonecrusher (savagery) and play that until you get the avenger set. It will be a sturdy but rather slow build. The difference to full Avenger is very much noticable. There are certainly quicker starter builds for farming like nightblades, vire's might oathkeepers, primal strike shamans, forcewave/blade arc deathknight/warlord, etc., but Voldraks/Bonecrusher Warder is a fine SSF starter for HC too, if you rather wanna play a slow and steady build that doesn't require many buttons to press.
In current day would your recommend this over your Warlord Blitz character for bossing and farming higher SR safely? Trying to figure out which one to put time and investment into as they both look tanky and can dish out damage. Beyond that, again in current day patch, what would be your recommended farming build? So many choices :)

I wonder how this build fares in the most recent patch. I loveeeeed it when I played it over 6 months ago, but I heard that it was target nerfed..? Would love to dive back in and use it if still viable now.

Avenger set is a "random drop" set, so it's in the pool of randomly droppable items. Best ways to farm those are to do SR 75-76 (or SR 65-66 If 70+ is too spooky for you) on ultimate or Gladiator Crucible 150-170. If you can't run either of the two reliably yet, farm monster totems and skeleton key dungeons. PS: Glad you enjoy my content! :)

I tried this build, but I got lots of fumble with Ravager, I can't hit him. My gear is Bloodrager's Cowl instead of Warborn Visor, for amulet Bloodrager's gem. How do you handle fumble?
Hmmm, the items you proposed aren't bad and they are a fine replacement. I did also consider those, but I think the ones I'm using are better for this build.
I like build, but devotions dont line up at this time. Do you have any update for what you would pick? Cant drop toad anymore as its needed for Ulzaad. Leaving me unable to grab the Tree of Life or Obelisk. Thanks in advance
I tried it on the DK when maul got freshly reworked. I'd say generally maul is really good for 1h or dw physical melee and not a must have for 2h or for builds with lots of x -> physical damage conversion. A perfect fit for maul would be e.g. a Warborn Cadence build.
Random drop, so SR 65-66/75-76 or Crucible 150-170 in ultimate. Until you can handle that content, running Monster Totems and skeleton key dungeons should be best.
informtive and thorough content u create :D can u please ecommend a toon on the level (clear speed, survivability ease of gearing) of my FW Warlord and PS Druid? I am a new player and started with these 2 beasts. They are awesome.
A Vire's Might Oathkeer + Arcanist/Demolitionist is the king of clear speed for easy to medium difficulty endgame content and really only needs the offhand and hood to get going. You can then start targetfarming the Vanquisher set from the skeleton key dungeons and enjoy the zoom.
Same. I already changed off of primal strike and then wanted to change back to it, but didnt wanna spend the iron respeccing. Now im thinking im gonna respec to this. I have 4 of the avenger 2 handed weapons, so I can easily transmute to make the full set... so i might as well do this if anything.

@@StoryoftheYear16 If you want more dmg instead of survivability, I'd suggest playing an Archon instead (Oathkeeper instead of Soldier). Or go for more aggressive physical devotions/relic instead of all this HP regen.
