Head Coach Sean Payton and General Manager George Paton address the media after Denver selected Oregon quarterback Bo Nix with the 12th-overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. Subscribe to Broncos » / broncos
i think everyone is just having trust issues, and rightfully so, our QB drafting hasn't been good in 40 years. i DID want Bowers as well, as i thought he would have fit perfectly with Bo
Welcome to Denver, Bo! I love this pick and I trust in this organization, but I've enjoyed watching Nix at Oregon, he has earned the right for us to let him show us who he is before we start getting down on anything. Remember, he's a Bronco, so now, he's family.
As a long time life long die hard broncos fan since I was a kid going through the greatest years with elway & manning & even the nightmare seasons of the quarterback’s not counting Russ & now that we have Bo nix I have a great reason for hope that we can win a lot more games this upcoming season # let’s go broncos
@@GarbanzoDogYeah, 7 AFC West Championships and 3 Super Bowl Appearances before TD arrived is just utterly horrible!! Elway is easily one of the greatest to ever play the position!
Wow. Alex Forsyth is the starting C confirmed. Excited for him and hopefully Bo Nix can win us a Super Bowl. We really need to look back at how genius of a pick Bo was in a few years 💯💯
@@princeofgreece9054 only thing I see that changed was his offensive scheme asked him to checkdonw 2/3 of his passes and his WRs had so much separation compared against his career in the SEC where you dont have wide open windows and blown coverages as much.
In my opinion Bo Nix is by far the 3rd and if not the 2nd best QB in the draft. He is a smart decision maker, best in the pocket, can throw deep when needed and extends the play as well as anyone. 61 Career Starts in College, 77.4 % Completion pct in 2023 which is an NCAA single season record. Over 15K passed yards, 113 TD’s & 38 Rush TD’s in his collegiate career of 5 seasons, 5 different coordinators with 5 different offenses/playbooks and yet was able to overcome those changes, learn and be effective executing the offenses. Hell he could be the best QB in the Draft if you ask me. Look at Patrick Mahomes, he was selected 10th overall in his draft. 1st, 2nd, 3rd overall don’t mean anything, some players selected in that range are Bust candidates and get traded away, Only 36% of players drafted in that range make it past their rookie contract and extend with the original team that drafted them. With that said, Bo Nix is the Fix in Denver. Welcome Home Bo, and remember you can’t spell Super Bowl without the BO !!!
You clearly didn't watch his games especially at Auburn. He's like 25 already. If he was the 2nd or 3rd best QB why was he sitting there at 12 like some leftover pizza
@@shadiffhinson4205 He just turned 24, by the way. And judging him based entirely off of the start of his college career instead of the end is insane. Players grow and learn as they play. You don't get an elite QB from them winning everything all the time. I also find it hilarious that you think getting picked 12 is equivalent to being 'leftover pizza'. First half of the first round means he is elite for sure. It will be funny when the haters get shut up when Bo finds a lot of success at Denver in the next 3 years.
No real broncos fans watched super bowls come thru the city we are not pullin for fam we want a winner he’s not it this type of mentality y we be losing that’s never been real fans attitude we like winning in Denver regardless of the outcome that’s wat we root for not “ hey you’re white we love you! “ foh he need to win to earn respect he could be in and out remember that after he folds
@@mradam1282 how tf do you know hes not it? what? what did caleb williams win at? you don't know how a college player is going to be in the nfl until he gets the chance to do it. that's why it's silly as shit to sit here and criticize the pick and flame him before u even know what he's gonna pan out to be. makes absolutely no sense. of all the 6 qbs taken in the top 12, it's an actual craps shoot as to which one is gonna be a good nfl QB.
Twitter is so negative about this pick. I honestly couldn’t be more excited. Such a breath of fresh air to have a rookie qb that works hard, is intelligent, and athletic. Lots to look forward to
It's just social media giving the morons a platform to be heard. Before the internet, those people would be hunting for anyone to listen...and nobody would. Will Nix be the one? Nobody knows. He has a shot, and he's decent. Let's see if Payton and his staff (and Zack Wilson) can pave the road for him.
Listen up and listen good. Bo Nix is the right fit for our system. Drop back, stay in the pocket, timing, 1,2,3 quick release, quick decision making. Nix excels in this area.
My concern: Bo started at Auburn and has stated publicly that he did not respond well to the type of “tough love” coaching he got there. Moves to Oregon, and Coach Lanning is an “atta boy” “you’ll get em next time” guy who really put his arm around Bo. Thus…Bo responded and played much much better at Oregon. Sean Payton is wwwwaaaay more of a “tough love” coach. I hope Bo doesn’t flip back to the “Auburn” QB because of it. LFGBO! I’m hoping you become a STAR!
Good comment. Hadn’t thought about that, but I would say the relationship between a NFL coach and a franchise quarterback is akin to best friends. I would trust Sean to handle his players in the way that suits them best
Nix is a more refined version of Brock Purdy.....!! His accuracy is unmatched, and just as any QB desires, he has been drafted into an offense that suits his skillset over any other QB drafted this year!
I know it's really sad how when we're bad people get so doom and gloom and never stick around. We know the true fans stick around watching every game no matter what
Coach Payton knows he hit the jackpot! He's got a very Brady'esk QB now...ultra fast processor, deadly accurate, and good arm strength. PLUS extra time playing and ready to roll right out of the box!!! That is GOLD!!
@@theogeo14 Minshew did an admirable job getting the Colts on the doorstep of the playoffs. He's better than he gets credit for. Still a rook may have better for LV and I'm certain they went with the "best player available" after the Denver pick. They were likely prepped to take Bowers The Raiders have nothing at RB after having Jacobs. They had Davante & no one else to catch the ball, so now Bowers gives them another weapon and makes them more dangerous. I agree that LV needed a QB & ATL effed up the plan for DEN: trade back, get more picks & wait for Bo (cos the trade partner would've gone w an OL & Raiders would have picked Penix). With ATL going Penix @ 8, tho, LV would definitely have gone Nix @ 13 if DEN traded back, so they had to take Nix earlier. I was hoping the JJ hype was just smoke & he'd have fallen to 12, but it seems PaPay did their homework.
@@Yusuke2211 You people? No need to be a disrespectful prick, and I guarantee you're not smarter than everyone else here. Indy was a good team, and Minshew didn't do it himself. But QB IS the fulcrum that leverages the success of the team. Anthony Richardson needs to learn how to play with the same intensity while NOT putting himself in unnecessarily risky situations. If he's learned that, Indy could go places. Minshew will have success in Vegas. He's a dog and will fight for the Raiders. While I don't expect Vegas to be better next year, Denver still must expect a tough game from them and break the loss streak. The hope is that Nix can do that & more.
Bo so glad you’re with us. Ignore the haters, the real ones are glad you’re here. Prove it between the lines, and be a good man off the field ✊🏻 you’re our guy
Honestly could be I mean looking back at 2021 Surtain was mocked to us early on but closer to the draft the less you heard about him. Hopefully works out just as well!
I hope so too, we wont do it but id like it if they grab Rattler too if he is there in the 4th or 5th when we get there. Im biased being a Gamecock fan but I think he has a high ceiling and would benefit from being under very little pressure and just having time to develop. I think he has a shot to be surprisingly good down the road.
Sometimes fit is every bit as important as raw talent. And don’t forget that the draft is really a cutthroat game, meaning not everyone is excited for all 6 of the QBs, they just put stuff out to the media like they are. Apparently, Nix was the 3rd QB on their board, the only one that was attainable at 12. They got who they wanted
I want all of these people that are bashing Sean Payton that are bashing Nix, that are bashing this team to STAY THE HELL OFF THE BANDWAGON When the winning starts and this team is turned around because it is coming. We have a competent head coach and competent ownership which is going to lead the Broncos back into the sort of teams that we were accustomed to for decades before the retirement of Manning.
Explain the strategy of "tricking" the Vikings into giving draft capital to another team in your conference. And doing all of that to make sure you got a Quarterback that nobody else would have taken inside of the top 20 picks. Good strategy Sean, genius move.
He's always been like that on interviews. He's trying to double check his speech before he says something wrong. He's more fluid with conversation when he's not on camera.
I had to talk myself into is but coach and chris simms talking about nix having a good arm convinced me. They seem to think he has a high enough ceiling and it's all on sean now. If it works it's because he's a genius, if it doesnt we're no better or worse than when we started.
Denver just got a QUALITY QB in Bo Nix!! This kid is a straight up Elite Quarterback & a quality kid who’s only gonna get better…fantastic pick by Denver 👍
Listen up Zach Wilson..... Nix before Chics!!(just teasing) Say what you will, the Broncos have a nice trio in the QB room.... The future is bright Broncos fans!
Payton BETTER be right about Nix. The way he treated Russell Wilson, many NFL vets don't trust him at all. He will have Nix playing like a robot. Nix better NOT get off his script or Payton will humiliate him too.
I like the pick. With that said, what a conundrum to be in as Wilson is actually younger and has fantastic upside. He put on probably the best pro day I have ever seen. What do the Broncos do if Wilson balls out? SP may have some tough decisions to make in the near future.
This feels over complicated. Dude is a good player, and every time I hear he was a “reach” just makes me think they are in an echo chamber. We need a QB - Nix has over 60 starts for two big time programs. I think he will be really good.
@@1stAmendmentorDie1776so because stidham who was older and more experienced with college beat out Bo Nix as a young high schooler just starting college he’s a better qb? I don’t think that’s how it looks. Completely different ceilings. Stidham is stagnant Bo Nix is still growing. He hasn’t even played a snap yet - give the dude a chance
