I think the bells and whistles only add to the end toy, unlike sometimes gimmicks hurting the end product. I really like the full crew and the "Cobra Signal". It totally works as something Cobra would do to scare opposition. I think the price is actually reasonable in the end.
Whenever I look at the HISS tank, I can't help but be reminded of the original British tanks from WW1 (with the shape of the tracks), but the slick aerodynamic upper part reminds me of the S Tank from Sweden. Either way, I'd take one for a joyride given half a chance. Lovin' the reviews, Hoodie. Keep 'em coming. S
Amazing and your energy and talking about the Ron Rudat tribute got through very well! I wished I had the space to display one if I had a way to get one. Its the best of the best they have done!!!
That thing is huge and very impressive. I always liked the HISS as well - it was unique but it seemed like a credible vehicle. Cobra sacrificed heavier armor in their tank for high speed and it looked cool. Does the HISS team come with cards? I'd be interested in seeing what the cards say about the figures.
That looks fantastic. I don't collect Classified but most of them do look pretty great. It also makes a lot of sense from a size perspective - when we were kids, our hands were a lot smaller, but now that we're adults, it does make sense to have bigger figures. My very first thought when I dug out my old collection was how small they were! The only thing that's maybe a little bit below par is the bumpy ride. I don't know if it's the treads or the wheels, but it's a little rough. Doesn't really matter though, as it's not motorized anyway, and nobody's taking it for a spin outside. The front end reminds me a lot of a DeLorean. They increased the space between the headlights so they now look almost identical, it's got that same matt hood, and they even put gullwing doors on it. I half expected to find a flux capacitor inside. And you're right, the Ron Rudat figure is great. The colour scheme is very close to the Strato-Viper, which to me is an amazing figure. Great review!
Thank you for doing this video & for doing it so quickly. It's a great review & unboxing. There is one feature that's easily missed & that's the engine cover just behind the canopy. Give it a look. I enjoyed every minute of this video. 😀
When I opened it... I immediately went back to 83' (8yrs old) but on steroids. The HISS and the Dragonfly, were my first GIJoe vehicles. Christmas 83 I think! My very first Cobra figures were the Cobra Commander, Officer, and trooper. They came with a cardboard playset....Which I remember falling apart within a week or so after putting it together. I'm extremely excited for the Haslab Dragonfly w/ Wild Bill.
Very cool. Like it both styles. I wish they had that in the 80s in that size would've made a cool playset. A few classic sized figures would've fit in the cabin and 2 in the turret and 2 in the cockpit. I had the original when I was a kid. Also had the GiJoe tank. I preferred the Hiss Tank. The Cobra machines were always so much more scifi than the more conventional GiJoe stuff. Wanted the Rattler 😁 did like the Vamp I had it came with Clutch. Those two were my go to toys. Vamp against the Hiss. 😌
I wish I had been able to contribute to this tank, the Skystriker, and the Dragonfly. They are all soooo cool. It's odd how packaging goes from less plastic for the boxes but change out the paper ties on the figure for PLASTIC ties. They did amazing with these figures.
Great review, fun to see your enthusiasm, couple of notes the seat belt tightens up around the waist if you just push it in either side, also the ribbed section between the canopy and turret guns is removable, it shows a small section of engine , And just a side-note, you can make cobra commander look a little better by just teasing the straps of his knife scabbard up a little bit on his leg to re-position it more like the card art
Nice Vid. Likes some of the Updates for it. Especially the canopy wings. That and the sound of a head popping due to jealousy...sounded like it came from Belgium😉😅...
Beautiful toy. I will say that I do wish there was an optional add on pack that was available that could motorize it. And just imagine if there was a way to add an alternative interior cockpit and insert for the turret that would fit O ring figs. One thing that strikes me is that this isn't just a larger toy for larger figures, but if I am not mistaken, it is scaled more realistically for the figures. So the guys are smaller compared to this HISS Tank than the O ring figures are to the original one. If this is correct it sets a precedent that could be really promising - imagine if the upcoming Vamp is scaled such that Clutch's head isn't stuck aboove the rollbar.
Nice review and good video. I can tell by your voice how existed you are. The fisted hands look like they are from the soon the be released Big Boa. Again, I enjoyed the review. And have fun with your new Hiss tank😊
I said this on another video, but it bears repeating: my god that's a big bastard. I would've gotten this had I the room in my place. I had the original HISS tank as a kid, & always imagined guns on the underside in the front. It has actual working treads, unlike the original toy. Also like that it has room inside the thing for a soldier or 2. With all that written, where am I expected to PLACE the damn thing? I live in an apartment dammit. I have the Baroness with the Cobra COIL, & pre-ordered the Cobra Rattler. Hoping that thing isn't tool colossal, otherwise it'll stay in the box.
Just like Christmas Morning ;) I really like the light and the way it shows the logo when you shine it on a surface. I think I like the technician figure the best out of the three. All around great video!
Thanks for posting. I am impressed with the toy and pleased. Like you, I don't need the electronics but they were well done. I like the weapons rack in the back (they should add a bin for the extra fists). Two minor issue is I wish they put a foot peg in the turret. I have a viper in there and he bounces around a little. You also wouldn't see the footpeg in the turret. Second, you can't use bulky figures in the driver's seat because the seat belt doesn't expand enough. I currently have movie Baroness driving it because nothing bad has ever happened to the Baroness in a Hiss Tank. I do like the classic CC but keeping mine on card for now. Have a great week.
I'm so excited to see this thing and it isn't even my toy! haha The Hiss Tank is missing the 3rd high break light. Nancy Reagan would not be pleased. It's funny that they gave her a shovel. I guess she is responsible for digging the tank out if it gets stuck. :D
Hey Brian, great review! Mine is about to arrive soon as well. By the way are you aware that the engine cover is removable? The panel behind the canopy. It has great engine details.
Just got my first original HISS tank a 2004 dated one with no sticker marks. And this video has convinced me that I’m never getting into classified. Obnoxiously large figure, electronics to break, and just it’s too big.
Yep, his left side of the canopy when he put it on is not flush… He didn’t notice it, but it is officially true what everybody says there is a QC issue with that canopy, not laying flush like the other side does right in the front where it opens
