HCU hosts Topping Out Ceremony for Founders Hall II 

Houston Christian University (HCU) held a special Topping Off Ceremony for Founders Hall II on June 28. The event marked the completion of the structural phase of the final building in the Morris Family Center for Law & Liberty complex.
HCU CFO Sandy Mooney welcomed guests and honored the late Dr. Stewart Morris, Sr., the University's founding father. Special thanks were given to Lisa Morris Simon ’76, Stewart Morris, Jr., and other contributors.
David Hatton of ChurchWorx thanked the construction teams for meeting the deadline despite weather delays. HCU Board of Trustees Chair Rev. Garry Blackmon offered a dedicatory prayer, appreciating Dr. Morris' legacy.
Attendees signed the final beam, topped with an evergreen tree, and celebrated with lunch. Founders Hall II, opening in early 2025, will house classrooms and faculty offices, supporting HCU's "Husky 2030" plan.
