The donation and set up of this electronic library by Health Care Volunteers International (hcvi.org) has transformed this high school in Phnom Penh, Cambodia run by the Cambodian Children's Fund. The donation includes 30 high-end Chromebooks with accessories, 16 virtual desktops with Dell 24-inch high-resolution monitors, and a $2500.00 server, network switches, and rack to run the thin client system. In addition, HCVI provided a 60 inch Sony Smart TV with Chromebox and 1 administrative workstation, consisting of 1 x 24 inch All in 1 Dell + 1 x 24 Dell high-resolution monitor and a top of the line Epson Printer. Desks, high-quality office chairs, and plants to outfit the new electronic library round out the donation. The library has the capacity for 46 students + 1 administrator/librarian to be actively working at the same time. The Smart TV + Chromebox functions essentially as a Chromebook with a very large 60 in display and allows for classroom size education. "In a country where the vast majority of students have no internet access or computers, this electronic library acts as an equalizer, opening doors and expanding horizons in ways not previously considered possible." (Francis Duggan, MD - HCVI Founder and Managing Director). The estimated value of the donated items is $35, 000.00+. The video was created by the students and staff of the CCF high school.
