you can really tell how the slow valves affect horn blasting on the 70's with those P5's

NS 1847 wears 2511's horn currently. It's fouled though

I said that, too, back in the mid-1980s when it seemed like there was a lot of new power with K5LA horns on it but quite a few of those got replaced with P5s. Quite a few ex-Conrail locomotives ended up with P5s. Don't ask me why but the P5 has hung on, not only on NS but on the CN.
