Querido Jaime, no dejo de ver tu moto!! Buen estilo el tuyo. Estoy ahorrando para poder comprar una aquí en mexico DF. Se que lograre tener una moto asi. Felicidades por tu buen gusto. Saludos desde mexico df.
Damn, that is a lot of mild mods/upgrades that really pull the look together nicely. Appreciate the part numbers...I'll be needing some of those myself ;)
I see you have the lcd dipstick in black, you should either paint the chrome bezel around it or to to your local harley dealer and get a new vivid black one already painted for $23. I purchased the bezel with ny dipstick and it looks awesome!
Great looking 48. Love the way the seat looks. Thinking about putting them on my 48 as well. Looks like it will hold me in place better than the stock, and not feel like im about to slide off when i hit the throttle. Would u say this is the case? Also, did the seat bring you higher/lower from the ground? Closer/farther from the controls? Thanks in advance.
Any other seat will be better than the stock unit... seat raised me just a little bit, not much and about the same reach to all controls. Much more comfortable than the stock unit and no sliding back. Also check the new seat (can be use with springs or not) that harley just came out with... looks even better imho, but only available in black for now. I hope they come out with a brown option.
Loved the bags. Not big but enough to carry tools, raincoat, etc. Bottles are there for emergency only... never had to use them. With gas stations everywhere I doubt it... but I had them both for looks and they were kept full just in case.
Sorry for the months old reply... Harley solo seat kit and seat... I replaced factory rear springs with shock absorbers from a Road Glide Custom. And nothing rubs the fender... Mirrors are Rizoma and the work great!
How did you go about getting the 3.3 tank.. because on your HD forum you listed part number. Also off of what bike is that tank. I have a Fortyeight special 2018 and I want to go to a 3.3 tank with a tank lift, wire tuck and ignition relocation
It is a direct fit... In my case, because I wanted an easy swap, it was a bit expensive since I got an additional fuel pump assembly. So I could (and did) go from the smaller tank to the 3.3 just by swapping tank and vent tube. The only change is the vent tube. So I had a vent tube to use with the smaller tank and the correct vent tube to use with the larger tank.
It is a Harley Davidson part - HD Compact Sport Wind Deflector - Part No. 57400184 There is a link in the description of the video with all the part numbers.
Love the bike. Aside from the nice look, what benefits does the windshield provide? I've been thinking of one for my 48. How much does it help with wind deflection?
The windshield is mostly to minimize the impact on the looks (smallest windshield out there) while helping with air routing... It is enough to avoid the buffeting in my chest and helmet. But there is very little protection outside of that. So it works in getting the air over the helmet... do not expect anything more from it :) and it looks cool, lol. Edit - Oh! And do not pay full price for it... find one of those HD dealers that will give you 20% discount or more... sucker is expensive for what it is...
Hi Jamie, First of all nicke forty eight. It Looks amazing. But One question. Where i can get this transparent Part at the Motor? Thanks for answer. Greez from Germany
If you follow the link you can see all the part numbers and link for what I put on the bike... Tank is from Harley: HD 3.3 Gal Fuel Tank (EMBER RED SUNGLO)- Part No. 61395-12DJS and the red stripes are reflective... got them on eBay and installed them myself (get the kit with the guide to make it easier to install even, don't ask how I know).
They are same length as stock and worked amazing! But the real change on the ride came from changing the insert in the front tubes... that made a world of difference.
Complete part list is in the link provided... but here you go: - HD Sportster Drag Bars - Part No. 55800035 www.hdforums.com/forum/sportster-models/883548-my-mods-thread-2013-forty-eight.html
Your bike is one of those bikes which make me think: shut up and take my money! Very, very well modded. Absolutely fantastic! With the tank and the classy saddle bags (very neat!) with extra fuel you solved one of the major drawbacks of this bike. How are the new shocks performing compared to the OEM ones btw?
With the new front suspension (progressive monotubes) and rear air shocks (take-offs from an RGC) the bike rides great! I have done a few more mods after this video was taken. I went with an earlier rear brake bracket so that I could install the matching floating rear rotor; Installed black powder coated floorboards from LedSled, and relocated the speedometer back to its stock location. Really enjoying the bike. Not sure if I can include a link, let me try... here is the thread on all the mods: www.hdforums.com/forum/sportster-models/883548-my-mods-thread-2013-forty-eight.html
Jaime Diaz I've been going through the tread you've posted today (haven't finished it yet) but compliments on your progress on the bike and your open way of sharing your experiences and little to the point write-ups along the way. My 48 hasn't been bought yet (it would just be a 'fun' toy....but a pricey one!...and I'm a bit tall for the bike as well), but yours really makes it hard to resist ;-) Did you paint your bigger tank properly yet?
MrSjeupie I had no need to paint the bigger tank. I ended up buying a new bigger (3.3 gal) tank in the same color (Ember Red Sunglo) as the original 48 (2.1 gal) tank. That bigger tank is the one you see on this video. The other 3.3 gal tank that I bought used was the one that suffered and since the insurance paid for a new one I went with the one on the video... I hope that made sense, lol.
I like the some of the less obvious details Particularly the black rocker covers and gators from the Nightster and rear shocks really dont jump out at you but make for a clean look. I see several HD parts and DK custom pieces I plan to install on my forty-eight. Nice bike
I had both... the 2.1 gallons that comes stock with it and then I got the 3.3 gallons tank that you see in this video. So yes, that is a 3.3 gal in the video.
Mr. Jaime I just recently bought a 2013 48 and have been wanting so badly to have the front hub cap installed. Can you please tell me in detail what it is that I need to do to make this happen? Here is my email topherwatts@yahoo.com awesome looking bike bro I will send you pics of mine when I get it installed. Bad to the bone forum by the way!!!
80!? Coño viejo... I am not that old... lol Anyway, I no longer have this bike... now I have a '16 HD Slim S... and now looking at the '18 Fat Boy 114...
Really nice bike check mine out and tell me what you think? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-81LsLXuZOBQ.html Where did you get you're leather bag from?
Ted, look closer, not clip-ons... those are Harley Davidson Drag Bars... Clip-ons would have been to low of a riding position to be comfortable. The drag bars are comfortable and still get that low profile look...
