I'm going to be that guy and say that the first kick is very Shotokan. :D And then I'm going to say that kicks to the face actually work in MMA, whatever your style or arena is, or in the street. Cos they're kicks to the face. (Actually, to the chin or the temple if you have control.) ;)
no you said "you get cuts easier", There are worlds between your nockels and a glove, It s easier to break your rips, it doesen t matter cuts, nobody cries about cuts in this sport.
There's a lot of bad hand defense here. Good body and leg attacks though.I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the rules of punching to the face. Still a lot of respect for these guys for doing this full contact.
kicks are very good...punching is sloppy...but in saying that i'd say they would be more effective and clean if they were permitted to the head. very good. OSU!
Punches to head isn’t allowed and Punches to the body don’t faze them because of heavy conditioning so they fight closely to find gaps to get a KO . Because of no head punches most fighters keep their head guard low, experienced fighters look for these gaps and slip a kick in
Boxing and wrestling from Greek and Roman people is a lot older than Karate and Kung fu... Martial arts did not come from Karate or Kung fu. People from all over the world have done martial arts forever, since every has a need for them. Hitting is nothing new to the world. Karate is not even 1000 years old, humans are like a million years old. People have been hitting eachother for a LONG time, with a need for hitting, comes learning how to hit well, and how to defend hits. Thus "martial arts"
I still dont understand why u can weave block or parry kick to the head and face that why karate practitioners cant take a punch to the face u should at least be able to mi ove out of range or something
A lot of it is not protecting the guy getting hit, but more of protecting the hand of he guy punching. You can get stitches and infection from getting your hand cut on the opponent’s teeth. A mouthguard can only do so much.
Sorry, but this is not true. Martial Art came with the Zen-Budhismus to Japan ca. 1000 A.C. There before in China the Shaolin and Zen-Buddhismus was founded ca. 500 A.C. from a indian monk, he take the indian martial arts, which came with alexander the great to india(Pancration). And Pancration is ca. 1200 B.C. writen in old greek manuscripts, but there is a theory and some manusscript from the old eygpt about Pancration dated 2000 B.C.
Most of Kyokushin karateka kick at opponents’ necks and punch their solar plexus. Then they k.o. their opponents and won. These matches are pointless to me.
