Stuck on ride near entrance to town set on the ride. Includes walkthrough of first half of the indoor ride (all lights on!) shot on an iPhone 4s July 1, 2012
Always fun to see these with the lights up. The experience is great, but the behind the scenes and seeing all the engineering and set decoration is amazing. Plus it's cool to see just how big a part the lighting plays on the experience.
There's a projector in his head that projects the eyes, I just watched an animatronic video and looked closely at them even in breakdown videos. It is cool how the animatronics look when off and broken down. Mater's Blank-Space eyes are just how he sits when he's not in motion. and when he says "Comin' Sheriff!" that's when the Blank-space eyes turn off and the main projector activates.
For some of these animatronics in RSR, such as, for Lightning McQueen, Sally, Luigi, and others, their eyes are on screens while their mouths are projected on a light screen. They have one expression for the Mouth and eyes when off, when on, the eyes move. Say for Mater, he stares and smiles into blank space when off, when on, his eyes move. They are animations on screens, but they are on one expression when they are off
Frank's eyes are complete screens, but let's say for the ones that are on ALL the time, like Mater, his expression is staring into blank space, that's how he starts off. Let's just say that Mater and Sheriff are just on Sleep mode. Mack and Frank have complete screens. The eyes for Mater/Sheriff/Lightning/etc are like "Impulse Projection"
I almost got broken down on it! we stopped for 15 seconds on the train part but it was because they were unloading someone in a wheelchair at the front
The first time I went on this ride we broke down right in front of the finish line... I thought it was part of the ride since McQueen pulls that in the first movie!
Was it cool to see all the animatronics shut down with their mouths and eyes off, Frank seemed cool with the eyes off! and Mater #1 was staring into blank space!! Imagine the wait line at Comfy Caverns when the ride got stuck
+Jasmine Johnston Disney usually rushes construction on some rides. Take Space Mountain in WDW (Florida), it's an older attraction. One of the original there, I think. It needs a lot of maintenance daily, so it sometimes shuts down 1 or 2 times a day. Disney may rush construction, but they never miss a detail!
Why do people think that fast pass they're receiving is for Radiator Springs? It's for any ride at the resort. Any ride. Even if the attractions fast passes are sold out. That's the coolest thing ever
I just don't understand why they'd need to have visual eyes when they're off. As far as I can tell, the projector is on the whole time guests would see them, riding through. You could be right, I don't know much about it :7)
Does anyone know how the eyes work? I thought they were all animations on screens, but they show up when the animatronics are off :7) How does the mechanism of the eyes work, if they aren't animations?
So, are Mater's blank-Space eyes important at all for the animated eyes? Does the projector shine through the eyes that are not part of the projection. Why do they need to put the eyes there, if they're just going to project over them. How did you find this out?
Thank you soooooooo much for uploading!!!!!!! I love getting evacuated on rides :7) I have been evacuated on Haunted Mansion and Roger Rabbit. You are very lucky :7)
That sucks especially since the wait times are so long, the other night we went and the wait was 90 minutes so my mom dad and I jumped into single riders, (Not knowing) and got on quicker but we didn't have it break down on us we've only been on twice.
Every time I'm about to get in line for this ride it breaks down! Even on grad night! It was one of the first rides me and my friend were going to go on and when we got there it was broken! So not fair!
I agree with you, because last year in October, my parents and I went to Luigi's. We'll ask if we can go to Ramone's. We're going down there in May of this year. I'm so excited. Are you going to be there?
0:39 "en-cun-vee-sense"... marble-mouthed. this is however, something ppl would give their right arm to see (work lights and behind-the-scenes). thx for the post!
Why would they make them have an expression when they're off? I saw that Frank's eyes are complete screens, and I'm guessing Mack's are the same. Why doesn't Frank have pupils when he's off? Not saying you're wrong, but I thought they used mechanical parts for the eyes so the eyelids wouldn't glow.
I hate it when that happens. My parents and I wanted to go on Ramone's side, but it was still down. We got with Luigi's side all over again. I'm sick of it, because it's hard to deal with Luigi and Guido at the same time when it comes to getting new tires for the race car that everyone sits in a lot when they board Radiator Springs Racers. We went on Luigi's side 4 times and it sucked big time. We went on Ramone's side twice and it didn't suck at all EXCEPT for the paint fumes.
Adrian Gonzalez That's true, isn't it? Ramone and Flo are my favorite characters from Cars along with Lightning McQueen, Red and Fillmore. Who are your favorite characters from Cars?
If I got stuck, I would ask if we can exit to the entrance of the main show building, so I can check out the animatronics. Mater #1 and #2, Sheriff, the Tractors, and especially the Frank animatronics were cool when not in operation!! Mater 1 was staring at us and Sheriff was in one bad mood!!
+Sam Clark I haven't been on any breakdown rides. I've road many amusement park rides at Keansburg in NJ which were about to malfunction. Pretty sad huh
I wass stuck on that ride and on thasame part of it too and the music and being stuck at the same time was so annoyne but it was darker when i was stuck
i went to disneyland reasort on the 15 of december and after the perade a ride that was a mountion brock down and we were in ;line so they fixed it and we were safe
