This is excellent. I spent childhood summers in Old Saybrook. From the time I was a toddler my Dad would take me to see the New Haven RR at the Old Saybrook station. Crack expressed like the Merchants Limited. Hotshot freights like the Super Jet (boxcars and piggybacks). It's nice to see so many familiar locations with Amtrak and P&W trains plying the rails. It makes me wistful for the good old days, too. Thank you for posting.
wow already the acs-64 are already breaking down Amtrak better keep the aem7s for a little bit longer metra had that problem when they got new locomotives they broke down so the f40phs stayed for a little bit longer
So who runs these Connecticut Department of Transportation trains? Because sometimes you got Amtrak engines and other times you have the older New Haven units
Railfan44 It's actually the state of Connecticut, they own those units. They got those P40s from Amtrak and have neglected to give them a new coat of paint. Just put some stickers on the units and they're good to go.
AcelaBoy2151 Its actually alot quicker to grab that CDOT trainset since it's used as a protect set to begin with in Old Saybrook. Whether they have a problem with one of their own or an Amtrak trainset, like that particular day. The closest single Amtrak P42 is in New Haven, another 30 min away at least.
If all the American railroads merged into one big one (including Amtrak) late trains would be rare and passenger travel in the U.S would rival that of Europe....
