I'm honest opinion, I had my cousin to shoot me with it within 15 to 10 feet range. It stung for some time and I had a swelled spot. So it's a big yes. It wasn't designed in mind to put dents in aluminum or steel. Until you get shot with it. You can't say it's not a home defense. It definitely is.
This compact will take a mod that removes all air constriction will hit 420 fps for 4 shots. That is more then enough to take someone down with 50 cal ball bearings or the riot balls with a ball bearings in the middle or the hard plastic balls .pepper bals will hit damn hard along with the pepper.

But it's NOT. You apparently miss the entire point and lesson here. You would draw an ACTUAL gun and a PEPPER BALL gun under entirely different scenarios. If somebody bad guy is threatening life and limb with a gun, you don't draw a PEPPER BALL gun. But since this PEPPER BALL gun looks so much like an ACTUAL gun, you draw it on somebody who is UNARMED and NOT a threat to life or limb, and you better pray there are no bystanders who really armed or they are going to SHOOT YOU, thinking that YOU just escalated from 0 to 100 on somebody who is unarmed!
These are not "self defense" weapons. They are less-lethal, highly situational weapons. But I agree overall that many may buy these thinking they have a firearm substitute. With about $100 in upgrades, you can get these things to go from "less than lethal" to "almost lethal" to "lethal in certain circumstances." However, I think the real reason you get his is for the pepperball. There are some great pepperball brands out there that achieve the purpose of disorienting an attacker, crowd control, etc. They are used effectively in law enforcement all the time. I have the HDR 50 w/ upgrades and get about 34 joules on 12g co2 w/ a 6gram projectile that, at around 20 feet, will do some serious damage. But you can't use the pepperballs in the mods because they will explode in the barrel. I think the "less lethal defense" options continue to get better. And when used appropriately, they can be effective. Even .22 cal BBs in the right gun can cause serious penetration that, if deployed fast enough, may be what is needed to escape a situation. I think that's what these are really for at the end of the day: giving you an edge - a few moments, perhaps - of extra time to get out of a scenario that you don't want to be in.
I would not think of this as a solo solution. I got one to pair with a Taser and also a Kickboxing instructor. I wanted something to give a little range to make some impact in creating distraction so that I can employ other tools. As far as if the pepperballs work I will just try different brands of pepperballs in the gun until you find one convincing. From my work as a corrections officer at a medium max facility that only allowed us to Carr pepper spray I'm comfortable with peppers spray for security/self defense. It doesn't work on all inmates at the same level but it's enough to cause blinking and coughing enough to take down someone with other tactics. Imagine with this that you add impact of paintball, a bit of peppering effect, projectile at face will at least cause eye closing would make them less accurate at aim their own weapon or strikes at you, and follow with a Taser (which will sit even bigger guys down). I would recommend this for an individual willing to get some self defense training and a taser to pair with this. And yes with that combination this can definitely save your life with non-lethal Force.
First off, I agree. There are better options. Second, that sounded like a whole lot of brag. Where is the video of you getting hit with any of the ammo types? Even the baby powder? Whenever I hear somebody poo poo a weapon, any weapon, I always look for the video where they take one for the team and get hit with it. I almost never find that video. Didn't find it on your channel either. I found one on another channel where this thing lodged a steel ball an inch deep in some dude's leg, but none where you took a hit and laughed it off. I also found one where you had a friend pad his shirt and shot him with a pepper round while he held his breath. I found another where you shot his padding twice. I believe he started coughing, shouted "holy shit" and ran away once he got a whiff of the pepper. That don't mean it would work for real, but it don't mean it won't either. I also saw you touch his shirt and then touch your nose. Couldn't tell if you snorted it or not, so the jury is out on that, but you sure as Hell didn't snort a line of the stuff in that video. I don't know if that "gun" is any good, but it doesn't seem that bad either based on your own videos. Maybe I'm the only one who's saying it, but I guarantee people are thinking it. You want us to believe that "gun" does nothing. You're going to have to take a magazine of each in the nuts (or the face of you really believe what you said), and still snatch the thing from the person holding it before they can run away. I'm guessing that video will never get made.
Think you got it exactly right. He shoots the can and then acts like it's nothing when the ball goes through it. I just watched a video of a dummy that decided it was a good idea to shoot himself in the leg with one of these. Talk about a charley-horse from hell... LMAO 🤣🤣
@Mike-jf5gc I bought the bigger Umarex revolver after watching this video. I made some modifications, and now it puts a dent about an inch deep in a steel 55 gallon drum with rubber ammo. I got it for my wife because she is scared of my guns. Now she is scared of my air guns.
Can't speak to that particular off brand device. I can say I can stop you from being aggressive with an actual Pepperball Launcher with actual Pepperball Pava 10X rounds. You'll stop. It's not a substitute for deadly force, however. But it's effective against unarmed people being physically violent. I think a lot of folks, including Mr. West here, really misunderstand that these type of weapons and what their purpose is. If you think it's a replacement for a firearm you have the wrong idea to begin with.
I’m going to say this. I have been pepper sprayed. I have been maced. I was still able to fight if I wanted to. The one time that I was maced by a female. I was able to walk up slap the shit out of the guy that brought her there. Told him if he doesn’t get her the fuck out of here I’m gonna whoop his ass. He gathered her up and left. Now if I was a real threat what could I done? Since I realize this woman was just being a bitch and trying to get to her ex and I got in front of her. I basically was no threat. But I still got maced lol. And I was able to steal man up.
I guess everyone is different I've been shot by that pepper ball that comes with that weapon and it freaking sucks. I think it's worse than the 68 caliber pepper balls. Everyone is affected differently but for you to breathe that in it's just crazy to me.

I don't know what fantasy land you must be living in where you think having a knife is going to allow you to "tough guy" your way through a 50 cal solid steel ball. One shot to your knee and you will be wheelchair bound for several months. One shot to the temple and its lights out for a few days. And should you make the mistake of charging while wearing a tshirt, one shot to your ribs and you are going to get folded. Attackers in the real world don't wear cardboard, they don't wear face helmets, and they don't wear knee pads. Everything I just wrote is just about the steel balls. Don't get me started on getting hit center of mass with a pepper ball. But like I said, the only way for someone like you to learn, is through hard personal experience.

You can act like the "tough guy" all you wish but these can be effective if used properly. Granted, for a pepperball gun Id prefer a TCP or Byrna, strictly for the .68 caliber rounds but come on man, that is a $75 gun your using. In any case, something is ALWAYS better than nothing. @@jrwildwest73 Well, it’s interesting you would say that. I do a lot of videos on these as well, and recently I thought to myself that I needed to know. I went out back and fired a 68 caliber round at the wall approximately 10 feet away on a calm day. I waited 20 seconds for the dust to settle. As I walk toward the wall at about 7 feet from the wall I could feel my nose start itch. I took two more steps and my eyes started running and I had a severe itching in my lungs. At this point, I started hacking my lungs out. I did not get any closer than 4 feet from the wall before I simply wouldn’t go any closer. I went back in the building and rinsed off my face and my hands even though there was nothing apparent. It took about an hour and a half for the effects to wear off. Taking a direct hit from one of these would be a very nasty Endeavor. Now, I would put some of that down to volume of the 68 caliber pepperball versus the 50 caliber but you can compensate with amount of rounds fired. Also, there are many many different variations of pepper balls. In fact, you can actually create your own these days using powderized ghost chilies or any other nasty thing you can think of. I suppose, my point is that any weapon in a situation where you have no weapon is a good weapon. Training is essential. You cannot simply load this, stick it in your consul, and expect it to work when you need it. Practice practice practice.

Honestly i shot the rubber/steel balls at the metal pole on my fence. It dented that thick poll alot.. If your a good shot and place shots on targets cartilage in the face you Will most defiantly destroy their face and stop them from attacking you. If you hit em in the chest maybe make em mad but your face is NOT tougher or stronger than the steel pole on a fence. I usually carry mine when on a hike with the family not for protection against human attackers but mountain lions, bob cats in our area can show up out of no where this will turn them around running after you nail them with this without killing them.

It really all depends on the circumstance, and they're really are better less-lethal options for self-defense. Hey, if you have the option of a 9mm pistol for self-defense, then just use that. 🤷🏽
These can be modified and used with heavier ammo... It IS a defensive weapon. I don't see you allowing yourself to be shot with it, even stock. You can use all kinds of ammo - steel, rubber, rubber with steel core, nylon, aluminum, and pepper. No one is going to keep coming after a few shots. Try it.
My biggest problem with this they made it look like a gun. If you try using this for self-defense and somebody has a gun. Big problem. I think pepper spray works better than this thing. Does God bless have a great day.

You can buy a rubber steel ball with this same rounds are using prison rights I know a guy who got shot by one of those in the rib and it broke it of course, while he was in prison

i actually just got one of these because its a .50 cal bb gun and that makes for a great toy! haha they make an upgrade kit i got for it too but it rips through co2. lol way faster tho! (fyi they make paint balls, nylon balls, rubber and aluminum balls for it too!)

You can get upgrades and get this up to 30 Jewels it does a big punch after that and crack a coconut open and he could also had to use the glass breaker balls
The Umarex brand pepper balls are worthless, but there is a better pepper ball brand that would fit this gun and that's the 50 caliber Jaw-Droppers! They've proven to be more effective! And this launcher has 375 fps, so it has the potential for kinetic power. I think the rubber balls should be replaced with 50-caliber steel balls that are encapsulated in hard plastic.
Get a byrna with a max round and do the same test I bet you won't be so cocky lol 😆 🤣 😂 you will be laying on the ground crying for mommy the max round from byrna and live x round will put you down I used it against someone that just got out of prison from doing 26 years and about 300lbs of solid muscle and it dropped him faster then a bullet so try bryna you will be impressed

You probably own real guns so your a bit biased on the matter. I got the compact version of this and its no joke, it'll definitely save your life or get you out of a sticky situation. ESPECIALLY if you choose rubber bullets. That shit shatters bones, welts you up and leaves NASTY bruises. I buy ones with steel on the inside. Perfect alternative to the real deal.
I agree with you except for one point. If you pull this for self-defense and somebody thinks you have a gun. In self-defense, they are going to kill you. But shouldn’t of made it look like a real gun.

Just another overpriced more poorly made Tippmann tipx. If it's not first strike and air line compatible it's junk. Paintballs won't hurt out of a pistol no matter if they are pepper or not. You could actually overwhelm someone with a regular paintball gun or blind them with an accurate airsoft gun or disable one of their joints by driving a .40 blow gun dart through it. Something like this or a slingshot is just gonna leave a welt at best but do no real damage. I feel bad for the Europeans who invest hundreds into these anemic defensive tools.
Oh yeah a real paintball gun turned up all the way with some solid rubber/hard core self-defense ball or glass balls pull the trigger as fast as you can you would mess somebody up. Be like getting beat up with a tack hammer.
Hate to break it to you but a slingshot, if shot by someone competent and trained, has the same force as a .22. Go ahead and research it. You get a marble or good sized ball bearing behind the band of a slingshot and it'll go through you. The only downside is, obviously, reload time but its just as lethal as a bow.
@@TD-sp8ks I've double tapped a rabbit with a good slingshot. Stunned it good and made a loud thump but it still hopped away. You must be talking about some giant goofy contraption. I'm talking about a Y shaped piece of wood with rubber between the forks.
