This webinar presented research conducted by the Data Nutrition Project (DNP) into quality measures for humanitarian datasets that are hosted on the HDX platform. The DNP is a non-profit initiative that formed in 2018 to develop tools and practices that improve transparency into datasets. To date, their work has been leveraged across a diversity of data contexts and domains, from academia (Harvard University), to consumer technology (Microsoft Research), to medicine (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center).
In this webinar, the DNP team provided a broad overview of three research topics:
- What tasks or goals does high data quality enable on HDX?
- What are the current challenges to surfacing data quality measures on HDX?
- How might the HDX platform address these challenges to enable rapid communication of data quality to users?
The webinar concludes with a question and answer session.
