Dri Archer & Garret Wolfe were probably the most speediest running backs I’ve ever seen…Crazy how they both set NCAA records then ended up being strictly confined to special teams once they made it to the league…I get it, they’re undersized, but they still should have had more in game reps on offense from both the running back & slot WR position, especially on 3rd downs. They just simply weren’t being used right once they made it to the Pros IMO.
Todd Haley never used him correctly. My school Kent State, had put tons of stars in the NFL for a MAC school- Dri, Jack Lambert, Josh Cribbs, James Harrison, Julian Edeleman, Rosie Nix,
Players like him amd tavon need plays developed for them that are specific to types of offense. If they arent in the right system they have trouble getting open.
Not gonna Lie, Steelers feeling like the new Dallas. What do I mean by that? Y’all draft these guys, over hype them, they get their chance to play 2 years later and they’re busts, repeat right back to the draft. Stop inflating and hoping on your own talent and look at things objectively, maybe y’all will win more games or have a stronger team. “We drafted the best sleeper o line man!” “We drafted a sleeper Wr who’s really fast!” All busts.
That was Pittsburgh fault they had to many weapons and only was really letting him do special teams they had AB leveon bell martavius Bryant Markus wheaten Darrius heyward-bey LeGarrette Blount if you notice Pittsburgh only gets 1 or 2 hood years out of a players then they end up trading them or cutting them especially if they drafted them
Yeah I really thought Limas Sweed was gonna come in the burgh and be the next Plexico Burris so did the Steelers to than I thought we found that guy in Martavious than one more time in Chase but I know he isn't as big but I think we finally got it right with Pickens
Did you ever get a chance to watch Sweed practice at camp? He was so smooth and unstoppable. He looked like John Stallworth, if you are old enough to remember him. Limas Sweed had all the talent to be a pro-bowler but he was a mental choker. The problem with Archer was simple: the Steelers got frustrated with him instead of realizing his limitations and work to get him short passes and using the incredible speed God gave him. Roethlisberger was not good at screen passes, which hurt, but crossing patterns and short passes to hit Dri in stride is what they should have been doing. Archer just wasn't an NFL running back. I hope they put REAL effort into letting CA III do what he is good at.
