Very recently I had prayed for something like this. I had even spoken to God of how things in Christianity were like a pendulum, going to one extreme (Cessationism) to the other (excesses, greed, manipulation, arrogance, false teachings, preachers who've lost touch with the Head of Christ, which I see creeping into some charismatic & Pentecostal groups) and how the pendulum needs to be brought back to the center.

I love this word. I have also been in the church for a lot of years, and seen so many things come and go and then, back around again. The thing is, are they rooted in the word, or legalism, religion. For example, when I was a teenager,(I’m now 61) our church of God did not allow women to wear pants, jewelry,makeup. For this girlie girl,all these ‘rules’ kept me away from Jesus for a while. Now I see these same things are coming around again as the path to ‘holiness’. I pray we seek God thru his word and don’t take scripture out of context.

god just tears us down when we make a mistake. he never builds us back up. he just leaves us there. god really doesn't do anything. there are no second chances, no change of circumstances, nothing to live for. he may build back up after we die, but he doesn't really do much when we're alive.
