Let’s bring these back! Didn’t grow up Apostolic and had an encounter with Jesus at 19 that I could not deny. I was Filled with the Holy Ghost during worship service 🔥 there’s no denying there is power in what songs we sing in church 🎶🎶🎶 praise be to God!

I haven't heard this song since the 80's. I still have the words of the song on paper in my Bible.

Some people are divided over old songs versus new ones and pastors feel they have to lean towards the young people, and I do understand that,but there’s two ways to look at this issue, the church should NEVER cater to anyone group, and second, worship in the last years is definitely not as explosive as it was decades ago. Even scripture states that no man having tasted old wine says the new is better

Love this song. I honestly didn't realize that pentecostal was across the United States. I thought it was a form of worship localized to the Appalachian mountains and hills area

I can't see Paul or John or other early 'Spirit Filled' leaders acting in such a way. There in no scriptural support. In fact, quite the opposite… For one of the basic fruits of the Holy Spirit is "self control". This display simply brings attention on oneself, and unintentionally diverts it away from the ONE who's IS worthy of it. It's not sin… But simply lack of maturity in the fruits of the Spirit.

Did David have self-control when he danced before the Lord with all his might? 🤔
@sandiegodavid622

I understand your reply. But my question still stands. I have found over the years that it's important not to take a single thing or a one time occurrence out of the Word of God and then make a case for behavior. I mean Abraham sold Sara into sexual slavery… Should we do that to our wives also? And of course on and on you can go. To me, it's all about Jesus Christ, the honor and exultation of his name. With dignity and honor.@@TheMysticalMoonlight

@sandiegodavid622 Praising the Lord and sex slavery are two very different things and absolutely unrelated. Dancing possesses a special meaning in the Bible, and it is a way of praising God. We find dancing in the Bible in the context of Temple worship when the Temple of Solomon still stood, festivals and celebration and in some certain secular occasions. If you want justification for different praises, read the book of Psalms. There are hundreds of verses anout shouting for victory, dancing, lifting up holy hands, prasing on stringed instruments, cymbals, tambourines, etc. But lets focus specifically on dancing. As seen in Exodus 15:20 and Judges 11:34, the women of Israel had the custom of greeting warriors who were victorious in battle by dancing collectively, celebrating the safe return home of the men. 1.Psalm 30:11: 11 “You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.” 2. Exodus 15:20-21: 20 “Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing. 21 Miriam sang to them:“Sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the 3. Psalm 149:2-3: 2 “Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. 3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp.” 4. Psalm 150:4: 4 “Praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe.” 5. Jeremiah 31:4: 4 “I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful.” 6. 1 Chronicles 15:29: 29 “As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.” 7. 1 Samuel 18:6-7: 6 “When the men were returning home after David had killed the Philistine, the women came out from all the towns of Israel to meet King Saul with singing and dancing, with joyful songs and with timbrels and lyres. 7 As they danced, they sang: “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands.” 8. 2 Samuel 6:14-16: 14 “Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might. When one stumbles upon a passage of Scripture in which there is dancing, it might lead oneself to wonder if dancing has a particular meaning in the Bible. Indeed, dancing does possess a special meaning in the Bible, and it is a way of praising God. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.” 3. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart.” 9. Jeremiah 31:13: 13 “Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness.” 10. Ecclesiastes 3:1-:4: 1 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.” 11. Luke 7:31-32: 31 “Jesus went on to say, To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other: We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.”

Even the Jewish nation has always had celebratory dances, both for worship and for jubilant excitement when things were going good. Your remark does not fit what the Bible teaches at all. DOTTIE RAMBO wrote that first song "He Ain't Never Done Me Nothin' But Good." You might identify better with her other songs like "If That Isn't Love" or "He Looked Beyond My Fault (and saw my need)." The point is there is a time for deep reverence and contemplation of what God has done and there is also a time for jubilant praise! @@TheMysticalMoonlight

@@sandiegodavid622how would you praise Him with your whole heart? When you praise with all your might, it shows on the outside. Until you have felt Him then you can’t say that it’s “lack of self control”. This great move of God really helps those who are living lives full of heartache or trials and you are essentially trying to take their joy away by saying it’s not of God. How can you do that? I know you don’t think that’s what you’re doing when you say that but as for me who has experienced this great move of God and been blessed by God for worshipping Him outwardly, it’s just offensive to see this comment you made. I pray you feel this wonderful blessing one day and then you’ll know why we praise like we do.
