C. All their Hope for the future was on Christ---Now He was dead!
I. THE DISCIPLES' DISILLUSIONMENT WITH JESUS
A. They were leaving Jerusalem
B. Their outlook was negative 24.14
C. They negatively discussed their experiences.
D. Their expression was glum 24.17
E. They were abrupt with a stranger 24.15
F. Their attitude was cynical 24.1824
II. THE DISCIPLES' DIALOGUE WITH THE STRANGER Lk 24.2527
A. They thought they knew the Bible--He showed them what it means.
B. We have the same problem spiritually - we don’t always understand what we say.
III. THE DISCIPLES' DISCOVERY OF HOPE Lk 24.2829
A. The disciples were surprised by this stranger - surprised by hope.
B. Notice changes that took place once they realized that Jesus was alive.
1. They were positive about their past experience v 32
2. They were positive about their relationships
3. They had a positive testimony - v 35
CONCLUSION:
A. Realizing that Christ is alive, gives us hope for the future.
B. Christ's blood cleanses us from all our sins.
C. Realizing what Christ accomplished, changes our whole perspective
