@Jearthyjanet observe na lang nila si Stell always naka focus on DF, mga professional musicians has their own ways of communication kasi parang guidance, and in particular sa finale nung song. If that was rehearsed properly, Stell will be facing the audience the entire performance.

He last sang this song live time during their GITZ online concert during the pandemic if I am not mistaken. During their PAGTATAG tour he sang Defying Gravity & My Heart Will Go On. This is the first time he performed this song live in front of an audience. David Foster's concert was held on June 18 one day after SB19'S performance at the Agusan festival. Stell rehearsed on the same day of the DF concert when he was seen by David and asked if he wanted to perform All by Myself during the concert. Stell was surprised since he thought he would only open the concert for David Foster.
fyi he just arrived from a shows in a province. the. booked a flight and went straight to araneta for rehearsal and that's when da I'd heard him and instantly asked him to try singing the ALL BY MYSELF on the spot.

He's done it incredibly good, the fact that during his debut released he post a photo of him saying sorry he can't premiere a live cause he's been sick (June 14) then by june 17 he came here in our province to perform with his members in the finale day of our festival (naliyagan) then they flight back home cause they have a tough schedule and here is stell at June 18 at David foster show ( he actually not supposed to be singing all by myself but during his soundcheck David was there and ask stell if he has his inear and say they try to sing the song after that David said if he want it to sing during the con and stell was flabbergasted and said it is okay with you sir? Hi Waleska and Efra, I need to explain something. He hasn't done this song "repeatedly" as you mentioned. The only time he performed this song was from their Back In The Zone concert in 2021 (online concert during the pandemic where some insinuated that it was lipsynced and autotuned). Perhaps you were thinking of MY HEART WILL GO ON that he sang 2x (Dubai and Japan Pagtatag tour). Stell was not the MAIN singer of the HITMAN SHOW but was just supposedly the FRONT ACT. He wasn't even properly introduced and was a late addition to the show, so the majority of the audience who bought their tickets early didn't even know he would be there and didn't even know him). He just appeared and sang 3 songs (All I Ask, Defying Gravity, and his debut song, ROOM). But during his rehearsal, he was surprised when David Foster called him on the stage while DF was rehearsing. DF asked him if he could sing ALL BY MYSELF. At first, Stell thought he was just being asked to try it out, so Stell tried to sing it while DF was playing the piano. Stell was just basically doing falsetto and head voice as he he was confused as hell at that time. Then DF finally asked if he'd like to sing it. So Stell was basically asked to perform on the main show at the last minute. No practice, no proper rehearsal, and as a challenge during the main show, which explains his obvious nerves. The guy was literally shaking. As DF puts it during the actual performance (nonverbatim), "Celine got to do it several times to get the money note. But tonight, Stell, my friend, you only got one try." David Foster had no idea what monster he had gotten in his hands until that very moment, and boy, he was GOBSMACKED!
Actually, David did tell the story of Celine struggling with the money note and even showed a clip of her before the performance. David then say that it took Celine a few tries, and that Stell only got one chance. Imagine the pressure of everything 😆

Of course Stell said yes coz it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. It was just a very quick rehearsal maybe only hrs away from the concert itself. You could see on stell’s face that he was very nervous but he still Nailed it! So proud of him! ❤️
The opening only with 3 songs .. He did not even have idea that he will sing all by myself, David approached him after listening him rehearsed..so no proper practice only few runs very short 1 and he was chosen to sing it right away at that night. So amazing...
A day before SB19 had a concert in a different provinceee. He sounds tired and its takes a lot of experience and guts to do what he did that night. If he had time to rest he would've given a version way better than this. But even with this already great version, not many can surpass. ✨✨✨

I learned in one of Stell's interview that he was asked to sing All By Myself by David Foster last minute during their sound check. Stell just said yes and realized later what be got himself into.
Eric Carmen was the original singer of "All By Myself" but David tweaked it for Celine to a higher key and that's what Stell sang into. And what made it special was that song was not part of the original plan. Stell was the opening act singing 3 songs then was brought up later again on stage to sing "All By Myself." He was only approached by David during rehearsal if he wanted to sing it and he couldn't pass that opportunity up, besides he has performed that song in the past SB19 concert.
Before Stell performed All By Myself, David shared a little story of how he changed the key/note of the song and how much Celine hated him for that. Then he said after SEVERAL TRIES, she finally nailed that note. Now, David challenged Stell and told him: "Tonight my friend, Stell, you only get one try."
I'm A'Tin but that title is still difficult to claim and may be subjective. No doubt he is "probably" the BEST male performer talent-wise right now. But male vocalist? There are a lot of styles and listener's preferences. We still have the likes of Zach, Arthur and even Felip. Still, so proud he made his way now from how SB19 was in the past in just half a decade. Hopefully he steps out of his comfort zone and continues to grow, paving a new path for OPM.

SB19 has a new vocal coach which is Coach Brenan Espartinez and I think he played a big part of how well SB19 has more stable voices and added technique on singing. I remember Pablo in an interview that he was saying thank you to those people working back stage mentioning their new vocal coach, I had know idea that it was Brenan Espartinez that time then Pagtatag Finale Concert came and saw Tiktok vids him back stage. And yeah this is just my two cents since the boys are already talented when they meet Brenan.😊
There was only one show in the Manila leg of David's concert series. Stell was the opening act and he had 3 songs in his set. According to Stell, he was supposed to rehearse on stage for the evening's performance (btw, he had only a few hours' rest after flying in with the group from a provincial concert the evening before) but he saw David playing the piano on stage, so he hung around, thinking it wasn't his turn yet. But then David called him and asked if he had his IEM on, and then he was asked to try singing All By Himself. He was a bit confused at the time, wondering why, but he complied and sang it. After a bit of coaching on how to sing the David Foster arrangement (the song was composed by Eric Carmen) for Celine Dion, Stell was asked if he wanted to perform it that very evening. And the rest was history. So, Stell did not have a lot of time to rehearse although he asked the 1Z vocal coach to guide him through the song as he was still unfamiliar with it and, yeah, he knew a lot was riding on that performance. He dropped hints on social media that he was going to have a special performance besides the opening act just a few minutes before he had to go on stage at 7:45 PM. Of course, the sleuths in the fandom had put two and two together and kinda knew that something was up. And.... the rest is history. So, yeah, we were surprised. Even the audience had no idea Stell was coming back on stage. In fact, not many people there knew who Stell, or SB19, was. The venue was not full even when the opening act was underway, so some in the audience had not seen Stell's opening act performance when he was asked to be on stage to sing "All By Myself." Of course there were many A'tin there but the whole coliseum was wowed by his performance. I heard from some reactors that the highest note Stell reached was a G5. Social media was abuzz for many hours and many people are inquiring about or checking out Stell and SB19's songs. I loved Stell's performance. He had little preparation, was vocally exhausted from the previous night's concert in a southern province and his 3-song set in the opening, but he stepped up, my gohd, he delivered!
He cant rest.. he is now in the US to be a guest performer in the Erik Santos U S tour..until the end of June.. and then another concert with julie ann sn jose when he comes back to the Phil in July.

That All by Myself performance was impromptu. It was not rehearsed. You can see the video of him and David asking him if he has his in ear on and if he can try singing that.
the in-ear story was during rehearsals, not during the show. I think they did rehearse this before the show so stell can know the arrangement, but he only knew abt performing this during the rehearsals, still an amazing feat considering he had last minute preparations.
Thanks for the RV! Stell was already happy to be the opening act with 3 songs .. But after his short sound check before the show David Foster called him up to try ALL BY MYSELF.. then asked him if he wants to sing it later on the show. It's an opportunity that was given to him and he grabbed it. We know his kinda tired but he's Stell, he nailed it as expected. Such a great talent, a powerful male vocalist!

They had a gig the night before in the southern part of the Philippines and went back straight to the venue the following day for the rehearsal as an opening act. It was the same day that he was asked if he would love to perform it that night.
Stell is still recovering from sickness whenSb19 had a concert in Agusan Monday night, flew back to Manila Tuesday morning had the soundcheck rehearsal with DF in the afternoon and sang amazingly Tuesday night...its insane!!!
The rehearsal was just once and he didn't really belt because he wasn't really expecting anything. All he knew is that, David Foster changes the course of his concert at the last minute. He told the story of it in his fb account and in one interview I watched earlier. It was also a lot of pressure because he was called on stage again and was told "You only have ONE chance to sing the song" right before playing a video clip of Celine Dion telling the story of the recording of that song.
Actually it was somehow like impromptu because during the soundcheck of Stell for his 3 songs to be performed as front act, Mr. David Foster ask Stell if he can sing All By Myself, after Mr. David heard Stell's version of the song, he told Stell if he wants to sing it that night and Stell answered if it is ok with Mr. David, and with that, Mr. David gave Stell some instructions on the arrangement of the song. And that's how it happened. I guess the reason why Stell keeps on looking at Mr. David is because, since there was no proper rehearsal, Stell is waiting for possible instruction or cue from Mr. David. And that part when Stell is seen mumbling, all the while i guess he is praying, but no, because in his tiktok live recently, he said he was practising that part "don't wanna live by myself anymore...by myself anymore...". And that's the story of what happened during the night when Stell show to the world what he is capable of, thereby waving with so much pride the flag of the Philippines! Proud to be a Filipino!!!
