Years ago we took the kids to a small local pier about dark. The water going out and I knew where the flounder went under, on their way out. I caught 3 in about 30 minutes. Guy down from us threw his gear down, started cursing, that he had been there all day fishing flounder, and had not got one bite! Here I come catch three in fifteen minutes, and he was going home ! I tried to tell why I had caught them, and try over here to. But he was so mad he was just going back home his vacation was over. My Dad, always said take a girl fishing, and she will always catch the first fish, and the most at the of your trip.

What i dont understand is why are the authorities so hard and restrictive towards pier fisherman but big fishing industries take everything that gets caught in their gigantic fishing nets no matter what species, what size , or if its even in season

@BRENT Conlon what do you mean? They are placing restrictions in The wrong place, big fisheries is where those rules need to be enforced. Most of the time pier fisherman go home empty handed because of this stupidity

Biggest sheep's head I have ever caught was 13lbs, I caught that out of lake Erie. An I am thinking lake Erie sheepshead and salt water sheepshead are different fish. Lake Erie sheepshead are actually a drum fish, from the drum species. I catch them a lot while walleye fishing.
