The funniest part is that ludwig would've won if he went for the "dumb" read at the end instead of the 7000iq play. "Oh all of your ships are touching the edge, this one must be too" would've worked out even though it was a complete coincidence

He may have randomly rolled them but he still looks at the random roll before deciding to go through with it. So it's more like him choosing which random he likes rather than it being true random. So there is some mind games to it.

It was the mines. Ludwig took advantage of Toast weakness, and it’s that he had to clear the sonar even though he has a strong feeling that it’s a mine.
