I would rather die alone in my own home, then in a nursing home. The house was once a loved and comfortable home. So sad to see it abandoned like this.

I know it's sad he died alone but it's a lot worse for a old person to be in a nursing home because they lose all their freedom. When I'm old I wish to live free without people controlling my every move. Thank you for the interesting video it looks like at one time it was a cozy little home.

I worked in an aged care facility as a carer, I hope I never end up in one, I would also rather die at home alone. Many people also die alone in aged care homes if their family is not there for them 24 hours a day once the elderly go into palliative care, staff are not able to sit with them due to not enough staff.

to be fair most people don't go into care homes if they are able to live independently - it's a last resort for people with severe physical and/or mental frailty. The days of old people going into homes just to get them 'out of the way' are long gone.
@margyb7469
@margyb7469 3 года назад
@@Londonfogey No it's not a last resort. After 8 years of working as an aged care worker I can assure you that it's not. Families are to busy in this modern life style that they no longer have the time to look after their parents.

@DeniseLaFranceCDNpainter

My grandpa was a plumber and I remember Grandpa and Dad installing a toilet and I was standing there watching and it was explained to me they put this thing at the base of it (between the floor and the toilet base) called an o-ring made of wax that was said to create a seal that kept the gases from coming up. I wonder if, over time, that wax ring, maybe with the power being out and cold, maybe contracts and thus, the seeping of gas upward and into the room? Just guessing.

I found this explore unspeakably sad. I could feel the old man's loss when he was left alone, quite clearly by the death of his wife before him. The little feminine touches left where they were, after she died. The champagne sent but maybe no-one there to help him drink it. If we were all kinder and more thoughtful, there would be less people whose homes are found in this condition. And guys, there's nothing noteworthy in finding a set of dentures. You may one day be the proud owner of a set, as I am!

It’s so so sad and disturbing to know that there are an excessive amount of people that are living alone, no visitors, no one to talk to or to care about them. In the end they are left to die alone where they will stay until many weeks or months pass before someone stumbles upon them. No one should ever have to go through life without someone to care about their well-being and sharing some much needed love with them. I can speak on this subject through experience. I can tell everyone that being alone day after day, without much needed help can turn a person into a depressed, sad, lonely soul who will wake up everyday with tears in their eyes and without a will to get out of bed as well as having a broken heart 💔. Some days you wish for death to come and end your misery. No I’m not talking about taking your life, just getting out of the horrible pain you feel every day all day. If you have a family member that you know lives alone and is up in age, have health issues, please, please pop in and offer your help. Show them that you care. Even if it’s something as simple as having a cup of coffee ☕️ or tea 🍵 and a conversation. Life is to short to not show your loved ones or friends that you care. It’s extremely painful to sit in solitary with only your own voice to hear and never being able to forget that it’s just you and only you that cares about you. Many people lose their spouse, and are so extremely hurt by the loss that they never remarry or fall in love again. The pain is just too overwhelming. LOVE ❤️ YOUR NEIGHBORS AND FAMILY MEMBERS, ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE ELDERLY AND ALONE!!! I myself am a member of this miserable club of aloneness, and no one that truly cares about me. Trust me when I tell you it’s not a club you want to be a part of. It’s truly painful, and extremely hard to live like this.😩😢☹️💔🙏🏽🌍

The Tesco Value labelled stuff gives you a rough dating of when the house was abandoned. Launched in 1993, it was revamped in 2012 to Tesco Everyday Value, which did away with the blue red and white labels of the older Tesco Value. Earlier Tesco Value labels were very plain, and towards the end the labels were modernised and included colour. If you look on the labels they will include a Copyright notice and date, which is a pretty good indication of date, as Tesco tends to change product labelling at least every couple of years.

Interesting video. How do you find out about all of the different houses, cottages, hospitals etc that you do videos of?

Another excellent video Adam and Dale, respectful and thoughtful as ever. I enjoy your sense of humor and you don’t miss a thing. I don’t always enjoy your “creepy adventures” but I watch faithfully everything you put out, enjoying and learning something each time! Ireland and England are 2 places I’ve always wanted to visit, but never got the chance. One day perhaps! I have stolen your “bits and bobs” and other expressions over the years, “gobsmacked” for one as I am a big fan of the Brit Coms we get here in the States and all the British Mysteries! In 23 days I will turn 85 yro ( 04-24-1937) it is so sad to see these houses and the persons belonging’s in such ruin. The only thing that will protect me from from all that is smell! That death smell will penetrate the next apartment and I will be found, too late, but…..my daughters will come, clear out and throw most all away and argue over who gets what! I need to get busy taking pictures and tagging them, of the few things they have claimed! But since I have decided a long time ago to live to be 100+ yro, I have a few years left before I need to think about it.

Judging from the dates on the wall being from the 50s and champagne for Granddads 90th bd, I'd say it was likely abandoned in the late 80s early 90s.

My favorite explores are the ones with you and Dale 🙂 Keep exploring because to be honest I just started getting into any of this and I'm almost 51 yrs old and yours is my favorite and I'm only subscribed to three in total. I am from Massachusetts in the USA and there would be alot to explore here🤔😀

I enjoyed your explore of the cottage. I always wish that the house had been emptied & rented out so that there would be someone always looking after it. 🥰

I'd definitely be wearing gloves touching all that stuff, especially the drain in the morgue table. I always find abandoned teddy bears sad.

Upright pianos will usually have a label inside the top lid (usually on the back board) that will have the serial number and other pertinent info that you can look up.

Adam, 1 request, the next time (if you ever go back to this area) would you take a look at the old washing machine in the yard. I caught a glimpse of it out the kitchen window. At least I think it is a washing machine. We had one like it in our basement when I was young and I remember catching my fingers in the rollers at the top that you used to get the water out of your clothes before taking them outside to hang on the clothesline. Thanks - another great explore!
