When humans develop technology that allows you to live forever and resurrect your dead loved ones, its inevitable that there will be budget options for people who can't afford the full reanimation package.

I love the idea that essentially low budget resurrecting makes you a straight up drone.

Beautiful. Love the way you verbally painted that bleak existence.

He died as he lived - primarily as a RU-vid video.

What's especially funny about this one is how useless the corpse is. It's essentially paying families to desecrate their loved one's bodies, with no benefits vs just making a robot

To be honest, I'm kind of disappointed by this story, but I think that's mainly because I like the other ones I've heard so much better. The internet always remember, the one about the printer, and the end credit story are all really something amazing. I didn't really get this one though. I assume it's mainly supposed to be an allegory for how we all theorize about life after death, to the point where we often fantasize about the idea of coming back to life as a horrific monster zombie if it just means that we get to live after death. But this story pulls a fast one on us by making it sound like it's about to be a zombie story, before revealing that nothing harmful is actually happening. It's somewhat supposed to be a parallel to how we all think so much about what happens to someone after they die, when chances are it's not really that complicated.

Fair enough It's actually more personal than my other stories. It comes from when I was a kid watching my dad spend basically his entire life absorbed in his work (he worked from home and it made him really angry and stressed all the time). The lesson I learnt watching him that I had to unlearn in therapy was that work should be prioritized above all else - having an emotional connection with the people around you, even your own children is an expense that can be cut out because it's not financially viable.
