Hello my name is not Laura and I'm not 15, and I have gone through and continue to struggle with similar experiences. I have never had enough faith to feel the joy of Christ fully or to be completely convinced I'm saved. I've never told this story before but maybe it can be helpful for you. I decided to become a Christian one night when I was awfully afraid and convicted and knew I was going to hell. Christ, sin, and repentance were hardly in the picture as I had grown up thinking of eternity as two different roads you can choose to live, not understanding the gospel. I did my best to get right with God and decided I was going to quit doing a few things I thought might be wrong. The next morning I woke up, was struck with fear, lost all faith, and had a top 10 worst day of my life. Did all the stuff I planned to quit. Didn't tell anyone about my decision. Didn't even know if I was saved. Over the next few months, I tried to do what I thought God wanted me to and went through some very painful experiences. Never knew if I was truly saved. Even at my baptism 9 months later, I don't believe I was fully convinced of my salvation. I tried to muster up assurance in the moment, and did better for a few days. Over the next several months, things got much better. I vowed to read the Bible in a year(2022), and had more of a passion for God. Started watching Christian videos, sermons, etc. I was convicted of sin in my life and did a lot to get right with God and people around me. Worst and best time of my life. A month ago, I realized I don't even have a relationship with God Himself. I vowed to pray 30 mins every day, and had a great few weeks. Until I started to be convicted of things that were very hard to deal with, and doubt crept back in. Now I'm in a time of apathy and doubt, but I have decided I'm simply going to trust Christ and continue to spend as much time as I can force myself to with Him every day. But I still struggle with thoughts of being a false convert and all that. To more specifically address your comment: We need to see hell as a part of the gospel. need the bad news(our sin and standing with God) to care for the good news. I would encourage you to step out in faith and repent of your sins, turn away from them, focus solely on Christ and trust in Him for salvation. If you can't force yourself, just pray and wrestle with God until you know your saved. You won't be truly desperate for God and His communion until you're right with Him, born again("from above"). Once you're born again, you will receive new desires and passions. It might be gradual. Don't condemn yourself if you don't feel much interest in God after a few days or weeks. The Christian walk, especially in these dark days, is one of constantly fighting doubt and confusion nearly as much as fighting sin itself. I will pray for you for as long as I can remember. this is the longest comment I've ever written xD

If you truly desire God to save you and cry out, he'll grant it to you if you actually desire it.

@@GMan7418 Then you must test and examine yourself in scriptures. Read 1 John 1 it helps alot with discerning the deceived from the saved.

He fulfilled all the prophecies of the promised Saviour. Please repent of your sins today and trust Jesus. God will forgive you and give you the gift of Eternal Life (Ephesians 2: 8-9).
