What E. was tryna tell y'all was y'all been sleep on Parrish Smith.😂 Parrish was producing them early albums and that funk was his...he probably did production on all EPMD albums. Which I kinda figured was the case during that time. But the confusion came when Redman album dropped and it was produced by E..the album sounded like an EPMD album. So when the Hit Squad broke up I remember people saying E was the man behind the music for EPMD and was saying Parrish was along for the ride😂...I was surprised by that because you could tell that P had a lot to do with the presentation of the whole shit...the style, lingo, and image of the group is in his lyrics..but E skills were undeniable. He went on a roll after the Redman album and his own solo album was a classic to me.

I love EPMD but all the stories I heard from Stezo that use to be a dancer for EPMD and then later came out and did his own thing. The stories he would tell about business deals. Now as I'm older and hearing Eric talk makes me think all the bad deals just cause Eric and Parrish issues. Rest in peace Stezo for always giving me the game back then

Dave Hollister was managed by some guy called Drano (who I assume is the manager Erick is talking about) who had his nephews (Brutha) signed to Def Jam for a bit. Dave fell out with them too (his 3rd album was the only one he did with those cats) his 4th album kicks off with a diss track against his ex management so that’s how that all went 😂😂

DEF SQUAD!! Erick Sermon is one of the most influential producers in hiphop and my favourite. Dave Hollister left, but still made hella great albums though, just not on the radar of most people. But I love his music too.

Dave was into some wild shit my buddy Re's dad was kedars body guard and Dave had a gambling debit and owe some other people money Erick was maybe one of them but kedars ask his personal body guard my man re dad could he get some people to protect Dave because he had a video shoot in tribeca for two days so Re got my cousin another guy from the block and myself because I just came home from Iraq this is during the 9/11 time so I believe Erick story because we had to protect Dave when he was in nyc

Dave really must have been into some wild shit because we took shift's watching him at his hotel for two days plus the watching him on set getting to the set going to restaurants and back to the hotel and airport he was on his own once he left NYC
