My cousin is one of his children, it's so weird because she looks extremely different compared to the rest of my family but looks really similar to him (blonde hair while my whole family has brown hair for example) she met up with a few of the other kids one time and there is a Facebook group for them if I remember correctly. Honestly, I'd believe most sperm donors are virgins, since you'd think that one of the many reasons why they'd donate sperm is because they'd think that they're not able to, or are not lucky enough to get a gf or wife, either that or just don't want to but want to spread their genes anyway.

They test the sperm to see if it's fertile enough the only reason they are letting him do it is because it must be extremly fertile and they are looking the other way its pretty hard for those banks to get sperm anyway I would never donate to one due to liability

Isn't it crazy that we don't have a system in place to prevent this though?This is literally the first thing that came to mind: every donor gets an I.D. number and the parents know it and the kids know it. When you grow up, you check if your partner or date is a donor baby and compare I.D.s. And don't say "oh that's weird or awkward" because it's already perfectly common to take S.T.I. tests before hooking up. This is the same thing

I genuinely don't believe it's the donor's responsibility to make sure their samples aren't misused by the clinics and sold rampant relative to the population size. The dude is just making his bread donating, and clinics are irresponsibly giving away his samples instead of using it for other research like they do with the majority of samples.

It's worse than you think. GSA is a hard thing to identify from a purely scientific standpoint but it's been well documented that related children who grow up separated often find themselves attracted to each other if they meet up in person and don't know better. There are all kinds of horror stories of estranged siblings and cousins getting married, having kids, and only later finding out just why they have so much in common.
The entire movie could be avoided by just having a simple conversation with their bf/gf. "Oh btw my dad was a donar named 'insert name here' how about you?
Lifetime did a movie on a dr who did this in the 70s or 80s or something like that.....he was doing it illegally and got found out and charged. A woman moved next to this family and their kids were very very similar in looks.....he was using his stuff instead of the guys stuff who came in to donate. It's a crazy case, movie was well done too in telling it.
I think this could actually be pretty easily avoided. If you are the result of a sperm donor, and you fall in love with another person who is the result of a sperm donor, just have a dna test before doing anything else to check if you're related. Obviously, it would suck to find out that you're related to someone you love romantically, but that would solve the problem.
Keep in mind, many children who exist thanks to sperm donations are never told they're the result of a sperm donation. While it doesn't matter in the end, there's the social pressure it creates among kids (who will pick on anyone for anything) which can affect them growing up due to being ostracized or developing the idea that their father "isn't their dad" and they thus have to go meet their "real dad", which can put strain on the father's mental health and put them at risk from their biological father, be it from physical risk, social risk, or legal risk where the father may try to step in as a parent where they should be totally removed from the situation. It's often better/easier/simpler for many parents to just not tell the kid.
This reminds me of the Netflix documentary film Our Father about a fertility doctor that used his own sperm to inseminate his patients, without their consent or knowledge, and had 98 kids. One of his patients turned out to be one of his daughters that was born from his actions

I'm not his kid, but I am a son of a well known sperm donor in the Netherlands who has, by estimation, around 200 children. Some of my sisters and brothers have actually met each other without being aware they were related, and I believe there was 1 story where 2 of them actually went on a Tinder date without being aware. Stuff is scary, and since many parents lie about FE the father not being the real father because he's impotent creates this goofy scenario where if you meet someone who vaguely meets the criteria you can't be careful enough. I'm willing to bet, in my family, incest has happened at one point. I just hope they used a condom and never found out.
How horrible and irresponsible. There are 400,000+ children in the foster care system on any given day. 20,000+ age out every year, 20-40% of which go on to become homeless, and many will just start the cycle of suffering all over again... Not sure why people are like 'my genes are so much better than those that already exist!'
This is an actual thing in Indiana too except it was the doctor falsely impregnanting women. A lot of the kids didn't find out until they were adults and many of them were disgusted and a few of them had to go to therapy for the mental strain it cause. Its gross that I've seen several comments saying "oh its fine if the kids don't know" cause its not. Imagine you're married to someone, had kids with them and through sheer luck found out your partner is you half-sibling. Or if their children found out they were a product of incest.The case with the Indiana sperm donor was found out by pure accident by a woman in her 40s wanting to do an ancestry test for fun. Things don't stay secret forever and the impact its had on that woman, her family and the rest of her siblings has been horrifying. Hell, even the women who took the donor sperm were horrified. This guy is a monster and whatever sick satisfaction he gets for being an alpha fertile male is disgusting.

Don’t know about your Indian case, but there have been multiple cases in the West of fertility doctors secretly using their own sperm to make many, many babies.
