What a powerful hymn. Only Fanny Crosby could have written words such as this. Such majesty and yet simplicity in this Gospel hymn. This hymn embodies the entire Gospel message in four verses. Thank you Fanny Crosby but most of all thank you Jesus!
" O my Dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see Thy face, let me hear Thy voice; for sweet is Thy voice, and Thy face is comely" (Song of Solomon 2:14).
I love the verse, "A wonderful savior is Jesus my Lord, He taketh my burden away, He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved, He giveth me strength as my day" ... Oh, I hope these folks realize how fortunate they are to have a church that still sings these wonderful and meaningful hymns. God bless them, and God bless their pastor for keeping it real.
Great and precious are the promises of our Lord! As followers of Christ Jesus we WILL traverse "dry thirsty land" BUT on this hymn we find God's precious promises Hallelujah Lord God! Thank You for Your covering!
