When you spoke about the old NES Pursuit, the old theme song kicked in, that made me, one who is 6'6", over 200 lbs of a man cry for the first time in over 20 years. I realised how grateful I am you, Ricky came back in to our lives after leaving RU-vid. You provide a sense of community, family, bringing people who are like minded and different together through your adventures, who you are as a person. You've become part of our lives as much as the games have been. I was there, watching every week back then, now doing the same. Blake, Chris Curtis, Gabo, the crew have really grown on me too. Hello Riff! First, want to say I love your channel! You and Retro Rick's channel help me remember my youth playing NES games and other games and yeah... the nostalgia feels is always awesome with you guys. Thank you so much for posting these videos. That being said, I want to offer you a few constructive criticisms. These are not said with a mean-spirit, but simply in hopes that you'll hear what one of your viewers is hoping for in terms of possible changes to this current NES game hunt. - Please stop using the Final Fantasy fanfare every time you announce your new total NES count. It's getting really... repetitive. Plus, Riff, you don't even like Final Fantasy games, right? Lol. Just do a quick sound effect and show the total count on the same screen with no screen transition. Simple, understated, and not annoying lol. -You use a lot of superlatives when you talk about your finds. It seems every game you find, it's the "best game ever," or you "Love that game so much," and you never have just a normal reaction to anything. When you use superlatives and hyperbolic expressions every single time you find something, those words of excitement and praise lose their meaning entirely. I can see if you find a few games out in the wild that really set your heart on fire and you can't help but praise the finds, but it's like every single thing you find, you make it seem like it's the greatest find in the world. It just gets to be... again... repetitive? That's the nicest word I can use in this case. -You guys often go to stores before they open. I dunno... somehow this feels like you aren't really finding games "out in the wild." It' also makes me kind of sad for collectors who go to those stores hoping to find NES games they want to buy but before the store even opens, you guys gobble up all the good stuff. Is that really fair, do you think? -Last, please stop with the super sentimental moments like you put at the end of this video... you are doing more and more of these in your videos and, once again... it's losing it's feeling and meaning. Like, I get that you are happy and excited about what you're doing. I am too. Honestly, but... can you just focus on the game finds, provide some info. about the games, and if you happen to have a personal anecdote about the game (which you seem to have played every game that's ever been made lol), maybe share that or whatever. But no need to go on with praising the game as much as you do and then have some super sentimental moment at the end. It feels somehow manipulative. I mean, geez, you even put sappy keyboard music in the background when you started talking about what you did this time. Maybe you did that to be funny, and if so, okay then whatever, but then I would say that feels contrived. Anyway, I have said my stupid two cents and I hope you don't take offense. I watch your videos regularly and I deeply enjoy what you do, despite the aforementioned. I would just be happy if maybe you could consider some of these ideas and not get upset or anything. Riff, I know you're a good dude, and everything I said here I would say to your face if I met you. I just think it would be more helpful to this channel if you could tone it down a bit with the super max mega oh my god it's so amazing praise you heap on every single game and find you come across.
