@GymchampZW Well the forward pirouettes are D and E skills. The inbar stalder full is an E as well but I guess the Chinese like the forward pirouettes because there's a large group. Healy, Ono, Lin, Lin 1/2, Ono 1/2. But Yao Jinnan, Wu Liufang, and Huang Huidan are using more low-to-high transitions and backward pirouettes that the Chinese normally don't use.
since she's older and more developed she looks much better to me and i think her transition from the high to low bar has definently improved from when she was smaller
Her physique has really changed! She looks like a lot of 19 year old gymnasts that we have at the gym my kids attend. I hope they change her routine to better suit her new height and shape.
The coaches need to do something about her releases. Her Jaeger after the Li Ya is done below the bar which is a .5 deduction, if I recall correctly. Also her layout Jaeger is getting too piked and her Pak was not the best. Her dismount was too low too. She has grown quite a bit and I think the routine should be at least modified a bit to accommodate her new size. I hope she can get back to her 08 form!
@rhythmics88rockxerin I'm not saying she's bad, but things like catching the 2nd Jaeger with her shoulders under the bar, the severe pike on the 'layout' Jaeger, the low and whippy Pac, and the consistently low landings on the dismount - those things add up quickly and are becoming unbuilt deductions. She might be ok in China, but in Tokyo and London her reputation isn't going to count for anything. And there's no way the FIG will credit her inverted double turn above an E...
Well, she looks eligible to compete now at least. Her body has developed and that always is a turning point for gymnasts and she seems to be getting through it. She does look sloppy and tired though. I hope the grueling schedule of training doesn't burn her out before 2012
The transition from low bar to high bar. Most Chinese bar workers have "Dead Hang" when they don't let it swing through like at :28 Amazing routine though!
The thing that I don't understand is that China has beautiful bar work. But much of their work is in the eagle grip. Why do they not train the inbar stalder piroutting skills? The russians are gaining difficultly by using them, and working on higher level transfers. While the Chinese are still solely training the eagle grip...?
I love her, but she should work on the execution of her pak and her dismount again, because her chest is very low now. But maybe her hand is still bothering her...
@JohnPhilipSousa519 Maybe it isn't centered on racism, but race is an issue that comes up because if those girls are legitimately 16, then those claiming otherwise just caused a huge controversy over their age because of their race... they are small because they are Chinese (on average, the Chinese are smaller than Americans in height and stature), and the Americans think they are small because they are underaged when they are of age.
@missfashion370 no, I am not the racist, I am Chinese... the Americans are sore about losing and blamed their incompetence in the team finals on the 'hunch' that the Chinese gymnasts were too young just because they think the gymnasts look too small/underdeveloped, when in fact they are of age. This brought a lot of controversy to the event that was completely unnecessary. It's not about them being too small, all gymnasts are small, all except Khorkina. et tu peux parler en français si tu veux.
Yeah. She should switch her style to more of a Yang Yilin/Huang Quishuang. She just can't do these releases like she used to. Each time I watch her, her form is slowing getting worse. Don't get me wrong, He is still amazing and I still really love her, but she should do more pirouettes rather than the moves that, yes, she could get .5 deducted for. Personally I hate her leotard. On the bright side, her toe-on shoot is a bit better and she doesn't muscle her kips as bad.
@runningswimqueen the chinese coaches are spoilt with such great gymnasts but they let the girls down by being so stubborn. He Kexin clearly isn't comfortable doing those moves anymore, they shoulda changed up her routine.
You see...this is why China age cheats. Physical maturation is catching up with He Kexin and she can't easily do the things she used to. It truly does lend them a very unfair advantage. Makes me so sad for gymnasts like Vanessa Atler who were at their best a few years too early.
@AsksOneThing I don't know what you are talking about. Vanessa Atler wouldn't even have come in top 5 if He Kexin weren't in the Olympics. Besides, He Kexin is still far and away the #1 in uneven bars today despite your unfounded claim that "age is catching up". Very old and stale argument you are digging up.
@ravel111 you are the raciste not the american because you are the one think they said all those remark because there are small and chinese ! but just remember that shawn johnson was small too ! (sorry for my bad english !lol I'm french)
i actually think she isnt doing well anymore.... the D score is high, but i wd say 7.950 for an E score is pretty low at her level her highest score was over 17 and her current score is just 15.350, way lower than what she had done reli, she is old now and probably its time for her retirement
@ravel111 It's not about being racist. And those gymnasts probably are 16.................now. Maybe you should check your information, since there was nothing that said that the underaged gymnasts were definitely of age. And there's nothing racist about this whole scandal, so how about you not play the race card every chance you get. In addition, the 2000 Olympic team was stripped of its medal for a good reason. Why can't the Chinese cheat again?
Yes, though Viktoria Komova was always credited with a Piked Jaeger every year she competed other than the 2010 Youth Olympics and the 2012 Olympics and Europeans
