59:36 the reason the grabber hasn't walked in on all of Finney's escape attempts is that the grabber is distracted by his brother, he's trying to keep it low-key around him and not look suspicious.

The Black Phone is a unique horror film. Stephanie’s storytelling is very engaging. She really goes into complete detail with all the scenarios that actually happened in the film itself.

Robin called him Finn too (throughout the movie, he's the only one who does)so that's another factor of him being called Finn at the end. A little homage to Robin🥺

This is might be a reach but I think Finn was also in some way “trained” by his dad. He has an abusive father and unlike his sister, he does his best to lay low. So he in some way already knew how not to be a “naughty boy.” Great plot line! So many twists and turns, truly spooky 🎃

They could've done so much more to end up with that, would've been a better plot twist because the phone and ghosts hints that all the previous victims are dead so the one just before Finn being alive and able to walk out with him would've been a major plot twist.

I'm a point now that I can't really enjoy horror movies anymore. Either they suck or they're too good I get so scared. I get so curious still, so I keep trying. You retelling these movies is such a treat. I get my curiosity satisfied without giving myself a heart attack. Please do more of these, pretty please!

Man, I just watched a horror movie called "Terrifier" and I don't really know why it's popular because I feel like it's so empty and there is literally no plot in this movie. Well, I guess, it is called Terrifier so it is only meant to terrify the viewers but still... It's super dumb. The characters are even dumber. It was a total waste of time.

in the end, when finn put the phone to the grabber's ear, griffin also said "You don't have much time" and he was the one laughing, just to give him recognition since he's usually invisible, this movie really touched me and i feel like crying again just thinking about it

I saw the black phone in theaters. It was so good. There were some good jump-scares like ALL the people were gasping and screaming. I did not like how the kids were abused tho. The little sister tho she had like visions it was so cool but scary at the same time. She was the key and then the dad stops being abusive and it ends with a happy ending

I read that “Paper Boy” was based on Johnny Gosch, a real-life Paper Boy in Iowa, who delivered papers with his Dog Gretchen, and he was kidnapped while delivering papers, and only his dog was found.

The scene where the dad is beating his daughter triggered me. I got flashbacks of my childhood because my dad who was alcoholic & he would beat my brother & on occasion me. When I saw the brother and sister hugging; instant waterworks. That’s how my brother & I would be after. Unfortunately my brother passed away at age 12 to cancer. 😭

This movie was more sad than scary to me. It also has a true element with the "paper boy" character. He was based on Johnny Gosch who was kidnapped in the 80's while he delivered papers with his dog. Very good movie.

I think the end phrase is a parallel better Robin and his crush, and a reference to how he is more confident around his crush now and considers her a friend aswell, because "Finn" was Robins nickname for Finney, only he called him that, and now hes letting her call him that.

Lights out is the 1st scary movie to actually make me excited, scared, and jump since I was young. But it's visual too. I know exactly what you mean about all scary movies these days. They all have group of teens or young people who have sex and then the 2nd day everything goes to crap for the 1 girl to live due to the guy she didn't like but came to love for him protecting her until he dies right at the end.
