I just lost my son at 36 weeks two days ago. I have been following your sermons throughout Lent and it has been keeping my soul from despair. My life has been falling apart, beginning with us losing of all my savings in January, my son getting kicked out of school, my husband losing an excellent job promotion to help us get out of financial loss and then my son being born emergency c-section with heart failure. At every moment I feel God is asking me to keep giving when I don’t think I have more I can give. I’m striving to follow the words as Fr. Cizak has exemplified. I’m on my Calvary and ask you for your prayers as I bury my baby boy during this Holy Week. God I’m in the story. Help me to say yes till the very end.
My heart goes to you dear sister in Christ. My prayer is for our Lord Jesus to embrace you in this dark season. He will be the comforter to you through the power of His Holy Spirit. I pray for His tender presence to minister to your suffering heart.💔 There is a beautiful verse out of the Old Testament that has helped me so much in my own family loss. It can be found in the book of Dueteronomy chapter 33, verse 27. It reads like this in the translation from the Greek; 'The Eternal God is your refuge and dwelling place, and underneath are the Everlasting Arms...' Those are the very arms of Jesus who stretched his humanity upon thr cruelty and agony of the cross, to make the way for you and all of us to recieve deliverance from eternal separation. It is the promise of the most powerful embrace. From a loving Heavenly Father. When I suffered my family loss, this revelation took on a deeply personal application. We can have real hope, because God gave us his only son, so we can see our own son together in Him again. Forgiven, made whole and Ressurected with new life. ❤🙏 I send you a hug in my prayers for your families needs.
I am crying for you while Christ is carrying you. Sometimes though, even being carried is unbearable because of the pain you are feeling. Christ uniquely can identify with your feelings of helplessness and sorrow. I hold you as you help Jesus carry his cross; I will help you carry yours. Prayers...
Praying for you. I am a single woman and I am reaching close to 40 with no prospects. I envy that you have a husband and a better chance to have children. I am so sorry for your loss of your son. I know you will have a baby soon. Stay healthy and trust God!!
Do not despair. God is always at your side. Like the hound of heaven He pursues you holding His loving arms wide, waiting for you to throw yourself into them. There is nothing more beautiful than a soul returning home to the Father. Been there. Speaking from experience.
It’s been a year since we lost our youngest son. I started following Father Mike and doing the Bible in a year. I’ve learned so much! I continue to struggle with grief, loss, depression. I’m learning to be thankful and to glorify God even when I didn’t get the miracle I wanted and prayed for.
I am going through cancer treatment and side effects from treatment make it difficult to attend mass. The cancer is not the worst, it's being alone. I feel how you love the Lord. It shows in each word that you speak. Thank you for today's mass.
You are NOT alone ❤. Every time l escaped a ' near tragedy ', l looked back and l knew Jesus was there with me. My wife passed 30 years ago May from breast cancer. She handled that better than l did. You are much stronger than you think. Know that many are 🙏 praying for YOU.
Thank you father Mike you really talked to me today I was born with Cerebral Palsy I had to leave my job as an Teachers assistant because I can’t physically do it anymore I give this to the Lord there’s light coming from him I was born at 6 months 3lbs 5 oz and I lived the Lord has a plan for me ❤ I’m patient and listen ing to him🙏

Fr Mike, I was very pleased to see that Fr Walter Cisek is receiving much earned attention. His two books on Russia changed my life. To suffer in a Russian Gulag, guilty only of his desire to say mass, evangelize the Eucharist , and the spread the Word is truly inspirational. I’ll be watching for more. In His Own Time. I thought about giving up smoking this lent but I was too weak and lazy. This week a thought came to me to quit on Good Friday. I didn’t plan it. It was a gift from God. To unite what suffering there would be with the suffering of Jesus on the remembrance of the day He did suffer and die. I am a very weak person. I was 17 the first time I decided to quit, I am now 67. This homily was the push I needed. I prayed Father help me accomplish this then immediately thought He did not help His Son you shouldn’t ask for His help either. This is something that must be done on my own to accomplish suffering for Jesus who suffered for me and you. As I started, IN HIS OWN TIME! Thank you for putting the idea in my mind Heavenly Father. And thank you for guiding me to Father Mikes homily this morning. 💗🙏🙏

Fr. Mike clearly touches on the meaning of suffering here. Our sufferings, when accepted and offered as gift to Christ, United to his Cross, is redemptive. Even bedridden, seemingly useless, in pain and troubled, we have a share in the Cross of Christ. Knowing this, suffering becomes wonderful, beautiful, for we share in God’s love.
Pray and ask God for forgiveness and guidance and get to mass as soon as possible. If mass is not going on, Still go to church and sit and pray in silence. God bless 🙏🙏🙏

When I was undergoing aggressive treatment for Stage III cancer a few yrs ago, I continually offered up my sufferings and discouragement to the Lord. After I was finally blessed with remission, I came to appreciate that my sufferings were a gift that brought me closer to God. They taught me to "offer it up" and lay my troubles at the foot of the cross. A beautiful gift from God, indeed. ✝️

Thank you Father, you are saying that although ideally if we do as a living what we love, we never have to work again. BUT: as a nurse and doing nursing home this is in no way an ideal job for me with all the things we put up with. But you are saying, keep pushing with the nursing, it could be part of my suffering for the highest good just like Jesus...I continue to ask for his strength in the health care field! Amen, sniff!

😢 I’ve been constantly sick for the past 3 years. Doctors can’t find what’s wrong and I’ve been praying for healing, trying to heal myself via all sorts of self experimentations. I never thought to render it to God!

I'm so meant to hear this great talk.....i must say, "In one word, to do God's Will must be the purpose of ALL our desires, our devotions, our meditations, our Holy Communions etc. The purpose of ALL our prayers must be to obtain from God the grace to do His will.. we must always pray for the light n the strength to be conformed to God's will in evrything but especially in accepting what goes against self-love. It took me so many years to understand mu suffering when I went to prison shaped my life and allowed me to get to where I am today. It reduced me the lowest point one could ever know, but allowed me to understand resilience and will… God brought me out of it stronger, wiser and ready to finally handle adversity and overcome the struggles in life. I fail myself often with self pity and at time impatience and anger but I am now ready to handle and overcome whereas before, I could not. None of this is easy nor desirable in the moments but what becomes of it only adds to our ability to appreciate and overcome! I try my best to turn to God daily and when I fail, I ask for help to remember to do his will! Thank you once again for all that you do Father Mike!

Years ago I read a reflection from Steve Givens. It was so beautiful. I wish I could remember it word for word. But I remember it saying that we can learn more from our failures than we do our successes.

I’ve been struggling with my mental health for a while since I’ve been in school and now that I have graduated, I’m stuck in a position where I don’t know what my next step is, it’s hard to truly trust God since I’ve always struggled with figuring out what he truly wanted me to do. As of lately I’ve been dealing with insecurities, doubts, fears, and anxiety that is affecting me physically. I had gone 3 weeks without receiving communion and going back to my worldly ways that I had learned to lean away from; I feel lost. All the things I’ve learned within my faith have changed and now I deal with racing thoughts that the world would be better off without me and different ways to 💀 myself. I finally went to confession and I realized I truly can’t do this without God. Why do I let myself feel this way when Jesus gave his life for me? But I don’t want to lose faith, I don’t want to lose hope. I know what he has for me is good for me, I just pray God helps me with my mental health that I’ve struggled for soo many years, I fall 7 times but I get back up!!
Dear Father ! You bring me to tears when you say, "If we miss the mystery of the Passion, the mystery of faith, ......we miss everything!" Absolutely! Absolutely!!! God Bless you! You are gifted....no, correction, you are ANNOINTED BY GOD in the Spirit! Amen!
