Robin Marsh from our sister station News 9 in Oklahoma City recently sat down with Toby Keith, in what has now become one of his final interviews. She joined us to talk more about his life and legacy.
You can tell that Robin cried her eyes out this morning. It's still pretty clear just by the way she was talking and reflecting back on her last interactions with him. Is there anything to take away from this news today? Is that to honor Toby Besides listening to his music, I think that people should really donate to his foundation for cancer research. People only have one life. So we need to do our part to make this world a better place if we want to honor him properly.
Thank you Toby for being a messenger of God. I think you have touched some of the non-believers because of your strong faith. You live Forever in our hearts ❤️ RIP
Robin, what a great interview, you are the best! Toby, such a strong person. I hope that he found a way for his cancer foundation to keep going before he died. Praying it will continue on.
Was a very Spiritual interview on both sides. I appreciate that Christ was the theme as he should be. Thank you , it was very inspiring. Youndont.see.many News Casters put their faith out there and it's very refreshing to hear you talk to a Brother in Christ so openly in these times its a true testimony of The Love of God. This is what I will remember about Toby and you Robin. Thank you for an interview I will.always remember with love of our Saviour.
Lovely Robin with respect, depth and caring. He gave YOU very special attention and time and he didn’t have to. I KNOW you will carry his love and the torch on. Feel your FAITH and carry it forward!!
I never went to a concert of Toby’s, but I knew his songs. I was listening one day to my country channel, & I thought “ it’s been so long since I’ve heard Toby Keith.” next thing I knew they were talking about he had stomach cancer. I could not believe it…I’m like, OMG…he just stuck with me all the time, wondering how he was doing. It was like we really knew each other, but not really. When I heard he passed, I cried, just like I am, now writing this. It’s just so hard to believe. What an icon, legend , artist, miracle worker for all those children with cancer, and such a big believer in our Lord God above. Robin you did such an AMAZING job on that interview., & it will always stick with me. I’ve always believed in Our Lord God Almighty & like Toby said, it’s not what you say, what you do, it’s what you believe in, is what is going to save you, & to go to that special place. Thinking of Toby‘s family at this difficult time. Toby is now where he is living in peace and no more pain.
Thank you Robin for sharing. I know he is at peace and he will not lose his just reward. His testimony will live on for others. Rest in Peace Toby Keith 💙❤🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
He contributed immensely to our community of warriors. I wish we could have done more in return for him. Rest in peace, Toby; your music has become a part of our legacy, particularly during the war. As future generations study the Iraq war in history books, your contributions, sir, will undoubtedly be remembered. Peace be with you sir... & your family... you're with the Lord.
The people of this country need to fellow thru with his patriotic legacy and heal this country with the same stomach cancer it is having to endure in theses desperate conditions and times ! “Rest in paradise “ thank you for being the American patriot , what you brought did for this country 🙌🙌🙌 Toby Kieth 🙏
RIP Big Dawg! I was lucky to see you on Dec 10th and will never forget that night!! And seen you in Provo Ut July 2002! And so many others I can’t count!! Thanks for so many memories!! Hope your in heaven with The Haggard laughing playing Guitar and Singing! I will always miss you Brother!!
So well said, ms Marsh, all of us Okies are heartbroken, along with many others, across the world, my thoughts and prayers are with the family now,,,, together again,,, some day!🌍🌕🌛🙏
I seen that story. And you did a wonderful job. People have distrust in the media. Your interview is restoring that trust you did a beautiful job thank you.
The way he died is a lesson. Stomach cancer ain’t easy at all. It’s painful and just a shitty way to go but I had no idea he even had it. One of my favorite interviews I saw was one where he said he came to peace which whatever happened, that the lord would see him through it. I see a lot of people die and waste away, I think if they had faith it would be more comforting and easier.
I cried like a baby when l heard T K went home to be with Jesus. I hope the fence sitters will now put their faith in Jesus Christ and follow him. Thanks, Toby for paving the way.
Booze sucks life I love this man I guess he should've kept smoking weed with Wille when my dad was diagnosed I took him to Vegas my favorite last memories were in Toby's bar I love this bar thanks for those memories and all your songs rip
It makes me so sad he had to struggle with cancer.. he looked nothing like his former self, but it sounds like he was a Christian and he always had God with him so looks and material items don’t matter.. it’s truly your faith in God and Jesus that will get you through anything:) And now he’s in Heaven with Them Both:) When I heard he passed away I put my favorite song by him on and just sang and danced around and I felt almost that maybe he could see me and how happy I was celebrating him:) I hope he did get to see me:)
It's truly sad that we lost Toby Keith, he was certainly one of the greatest in country music, having said that I just want to mention as a health care provider that excessive alcohol consumption is a contributor for stomach cancer, Toby's songs made no secret about alcohol consumption and I hope people heed this warning. R.I.P. Toby Keith.
I’m so heartbroken. And I’m so glad he knew the Lord! But I’m gonna mention the elephant in the room here. He got the covid jab, and then got the cancer. Can we at least have a discussion about this? Nobody wants to talk about it. There are doctors who keep talking about the increase in cancers that they’re seeing from jabbed individuals. My prayers for his wife and family. 😓
I LOVE U BROTHA, THERE IS NO GOD CAUSE IF SO HE AND ALL THE OTHERS WOULD BE HERE, WHY WOULD THIS GOD DUDE NOT BE ABLE TO CURE THESE PEOPLE YET SUPPOSEDLY HE GAVE A BLIND MAN SIGHT, LOL UMM OK...TOBY KEITH IS A GOD!!! YOUR MUSIC IS FOOOOKIN AMAZING, WE LOVE U TOBY KEITH THANK YOU, THANK YOU SIR FOR SHARING YOUR TALENT WITH US.
My heart is broken. He fought so hard and so stoically….all while remaining so positive. My most sincere condolences to his family. Toby will live on with all of us thru his music. God bless you Toby…❤️
Too true. I really thought Toby's positive attitude, would preval. I was sure Toby would keep on keeping on. What an awesome individual Toby will always be.
Toby was a wonderful man... In 1991 Toby's band Easy Money played every 6 weeks at a club I owned .... what a special band Toby assembled !!! Toby was a prolific song writer! ... paying Toby 600 a nite I think back he never cared about the dollars. I was in Nashville the nite Toby signed his record deal....the dollars changed but it didn't change the man he would talk about his dad often and how hard work was instilled in him at a young age.... Toby loved America An OU fan he would talk recruiting and football every time we set down together .... of all his attributes he loved the Lord Jesus Christ!!! Like Toby I found Christ and I thank God Toby experienced the same!!! RIP
We lost a music icon and legend. Millions of fans are devastated right now. If you're a fan or listener of country music, you know all about Toby Keith. His songs are well known to so many. The three that stand out for me are "Should've been a Cowboy", "Red Solo Cup", and "How Do You Like Me Now?" The third one listed is one that I remember as the first Toby Keith song I ever listened to as a kid. He also wrote so many memorable ones in his long and historic career. A lot of them reached the top of the Billboard charts. He also collaborated with so many country stars i.e. Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Miranda Lambert, and Eric Church. Those collaborations were some of the best. I remember seeing Toby perform at CMA Fest when I lived in Nashville a few years back. His performances were awesome. The whole crowd loved him. Toby leaves a legacy we will most certainly never forget. Rest in Peace, Toby. We will miss you. 🎼🎵🎶🎸
I never saw him in person, but I will see him in heaven, to God be the glory through our Savior, Jesus Christ. "Well done, good and faithful servant-" the words we long to hear. Praise God Toby's faith has become sight. ❤
He was such a Patriot! A big, loving, down to earth, country man! Such a good, GOOD man! Generous and unselfish! God's got you in His arms... we'll REALLY MISS you! Rest easy Cowboy 🤠!
A lot of Love from Nashville. Thank You brother for being a role model for so many and even warriors are needed in heaven. My prayers r with Toby but has quickly shifted to his family. I ask God to love on his family, show them Toby is still very much with us in spirit being on right side of his end. If I may say to those still crying as I am, know he's experiencing something alot of humans unfortunately won't because people refuse to change their ways. I love you brother
I just watched that interview you guys did with Toby last week I thought he was getting better. It gutted me this morning to hear he died so soon after that interview
@2ssrs950. Me, too! I was in shock and cried like a baby cuz l thought he was on the mend. Well, Praise God, he's healed now!!! I'll see him again! ❤️❤️❤️
Toby was a enormously talented songwriter, singer,, entertainer, friend & much more. He fought a hard fight but is in a better place now. Rest in Peace Toby, Gone but never forgotten.

He fought cancer with all his might til the end Toby we love u thank u for ur music ur patriotism and so many memories My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends Rest in Peace TK
I feel for all who suffer cancer, for I myself have been fighting cancer for over five years now using a cannabis treatment instead of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I believe that saying no to chemotherapy and radiation treatments is God's choice for me.
I am so sorry that such a great man who spent so much time and effort attempting to make other peoples lives better, had to struggle and suffer during the last three years of his life. What a tragic loss to not only the world of music but to mankind in general. May God greatly bless and comfort his family.
