I don't want to say bad about our National Guard. I have family and friends who have served in the guard. However please understand that guardsmen serve 1 weekend a month and a 30 day service a year. My family who served in Iraq said that full time military didn't much care for the guard in the war zone. He said they would show up for a short time, do the easy jobs, give each other medals and leave. The media is making a big deal about Walz's 24 years. How much time did he actually serve? Trump needs to put the guard on our border and actually guard our country.

@@jerrir4239 Walz was stationed overseas in Italy from August 2003 to April 2004 so I think he did more than the minimum. He also helped out during natural disasters such as tornadoes and floods. But sure destroy the man's reputation for cheap political points.

I am a Vietnam veteran. Unknowing people unfamiliar with the military do not understand that in claiming stolen valor that he should be jailed. Then he lied about the rank he left with---again--he never fulfilled the enlistment statement the full 2 years he signed for. And that he left before being sent to a war zone--(poor man will never understand ptsd from many in combat) as well. He best RESIGN and seek other employment where he will not have to lie to try to gain power. And watching the riots summer 2020 that he and his wife watched those burning and looting Minneapolis "allowing them to protest their feelings" towards whatever (???) Throw him out of office NOW.

Walz is cowardly. He told his superiors that he was moving ahead with his unit, he knew they were going to be deployed when he went around his superior to put in for retirement prior to any deployment. Those are the facts. Tim Walz was never in a war. As a wife and sister of six military men, I can tell you neither they nor any soldier would want to be in a trench with him!

Walz was at Bagram and while was not “taken out” of SNCO Academy, he simply declined to attend, given he was promoted, attending is mandatory or one can opt to retire at the last rank given where they spent 3 years or more. How do I know, been there, done that attended the Academy @ Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex 2005.

Summary of VA benefits for national guard & reserve: Traditional national guard & reserve members typically serve one weekend per month & two weeks per year. 12 (days) + 14 (days) x 24 (yrs) = a grand total of 348 DAYS! Walz needs to stop bragging about his "24 years" of service all while he held down not only a full time teaching job, but was a football coach, etc. I come from a very long line of active military members and find Walz bragging about being what my grandfather (WWII & Korea) and uncles (Vietnam) called weekend warriors, very disingenuous.

Walz has no balls. he served in the National Guard not 24 7 in a day . Maybe 1 hr per day so meaning he just served 365 hrs in a year x 24 years so....
He’s proud of his service, as he should be. Which part makes him feel most proud? Serving on the battlefield in Iraq and Afghanistan carrying weapons of war? Being proud of your service also means correcting people who misunderstood when you admit you misspoke, that you didn’t serve on a battlefield. Thanks for your twenty four years of service. Seems like you would have been itching to put that training to use. 🤔
I heard he was also a General in Afghanistan two weeks a month to give the acting Generals some R&R. It had some pictures of him in meeting with Biden and a few with him at the airport with a marine escort. He did look very official and a Top Gun kind of guy. Also before that he would go on some top secret missions that he said he could not talk about but you know how those spy things go. Yeah, big Tim is my hero and I have a picture of him next to my picture of George Patton on my ceiling so I can dream of him at night. He would always say in his speeches that "Hey, you want the Truth, You can't handle the Truth !". What a Bad Ass !
